Thanks Rex for a good game. Cheers Mark

Right, that's it! Turkoman is out and Cunningcairn is in. I will get the table changed as soon as possible. You may start your matches now, Martin. Good luck.

Quarter-final procedure
You may start your Quarter-final paired matches on Sunday 3rd November and you have 14 days in which to complete them. We will be posting a new chart on Sunday morning. The armies you will be using are Early Medieval Germans (no Swiss allies) and Hussites (Polish allies may be selected).
If a contest ends with both players winning one match each then a tie-breaker will come into operation. The tiebreaker will work like this . . .
Match 1: Player A 25/35 beats Player B 34/32
Match 2: Player B 20/31 beats Player A 33/33
Looking at Match 1 Players A has 10 break points left in his army and he has inflicted 2 extra break points over that which was required to rout his opponents army - so 10+2 + 12
Looking at Match 2 Players B has 11 break points left in his army and he has inflicted 0 extra break points over that which was required to rout his opponents army - so 11+0 + 11
So Player A has beaten Player B by 12-11 in the tiebreak.
If the scores in the tie break had been equal then the contest would have been decided by a toss of the coin.
Are there any questions about this tie-break procedure? Does everybody understand it OK?

lydianed (Gallic Early Lowlife) 42/45 bt Supervark (Early Limigantes) 50/44
Notwithstanding a 10 - 0 score in my favour in the last round this was an evenly matched battle from the start. Both sides had runs of poor dice results and with a different set of random numbers I could have lost in the two of the last three rounds. My opponent played faultlessly and was let down by dice and undisciplined troops.
BTW - Barbarian armies at 400pts suck the fat one. There aren't the points to swamp the battlefield so it fails to conquer either by quantity or quality.
