Hey Guys,
I believe the organizers of Gisclair, the oldest running ancients tournament in the USA, would seriously consider running a FOG tournament at its next event in October, 2008. This gives us plenty of time to prepare but I think that their commitment may be bolstered if we can secure some out of state interest. We are working on the conversion in the Gulf South and we are attracting a few non-DBM players, which is a big bonus, but if some out of state players can also commit (Dan, Mark?) I think that would be the clincher. Also, Gisclair may be a good historical starting point for the first US FOG tournament because, if you recall, the first US Open DBM Tournament was played at Gisclair.
Anyway, just looking for some preliminary feedback. We are pretty far away so I won't hold you to it. ;^D
Thanks!
Chris Johnston

My first Gisclair that I attended was 1985, held at the student union on the LSU campus. We played 6th Edition, and Wargames out of Tridelphia was the lone vendor. When the tourney went to 7th and then DBM, and I went another direction, and have not been back. So, I would love to revisit, and enter the FoG tourney if you have one. KC to Red Stick is not that bad......so, mark me down for an 'out-of'towner'.
