Khurasan previews 15mm Emishi for Kofun/Nara range

Post by khurasan_miniatures »

We're very pleased (and relieved) to preview the Emishi skirmishers for our Kofun (pre-samurai) range -- they've been a long time coming but are worth the wait!

Image

The sculptor has captured the primitive look of the Emishi, wearing long shaggy beards and deerskins -- with arrows stuck in their hair knots!

We had three poses made for those who wish to use them as massed archers, but they are most famous as open order skirmishers, hunting men with the same ruthlessness as they did their animal prey.

Thanks to Duncan Head for the specs and a drawing of appearance, and to Steve Dean for the paintup. Coming soon!

By the way, in other pre-Samurai news, the Yayoi Japanese have been sculpted and are about to be cast. Stay tuned for details....

soit on les defonce à la mitraille et on venge la vielle garde.

And at long last, the peasant levy/servant archers, called Be Archers.

Hoping to have the Emishi production castings soon, and these will be going straight to the casters once received. That will complete the Kofun/Nara (3rd-7th C. AD Japanese) range.

I've seen various things used to indicate scale.

Rulers. Coins. Matches. Quite a few things.

I've never seen a CAT used to indicate scale. Besides which a cat is a poor item for scale. There are big cats and small cats... which one is yours?

This is no longer true, most decent pet shops won't sell cats. If you want one you should be able to find a local rescue charity that can help though.

A pet shop can't be sure that you live in a suitable place or have the necessary commitment. A charity will vet potential owners.

Like make sure they've got a decent sized oven and a recipe?
