Re: Open Betatest
Beta forum should now be open for everyone, so you can get the latest beta build and post build related observations in there.

Re: Open Betatest - [BLD] Latest Release - v1.8.12.824 bRC6u
I had the hope to see city hexes or walls or such things in the new fog for siege scenarios or capture of citys but i cant see anythings.
Means this the new FOG will be againe a world without citys and villages ?
But maybe i missed them. Maybe i could get a tip where to find the citys.

I might have missed something, but isn't the "new" FoG supposed to look just like the original version? This new beta version looks nothing like the original. The BG images are nowhere near as sharp and clear as in the original. The map display and the super heavy hex grid looks terrible. I've tried different resolution and they all look the same. Is this just the way the beta version displays what has been done do far? I may not have all the info, but I'm going to be greatly disappointed if the beta version is how the game will look. Hope I'm wrong about this.

A little nervous about even trying this. I am glad to know that the work is continuing. But I'm afraid I'd be another whiny voice demanding perfection right out of the assembler. Will monitor and appreciate from afar for now.

Hi,
the last version looks good. But i think the circles around the units should not have a arrow, looks bad.
If possible please remove it.
Sorry if i ask againe but i never got an answer.
Could you add the possibility for modders to add buildings ?
How should we create a siege of a city if there is no city.
Please keep in mind "Medival 3" will be released soon and will have citys . So i think Fog should also have that.
Just an idea, not meant as criticism.

Hello,
Although you can now at least save a personal (non-DAG) army, which is a great step forward, I find the process of creating one quite difficult. The steps you have to go through still go via the scenario editor, which I find rather counter intuitive and difficult to figure out.Espescially how to save if, for now, you only want to build an army.
In order to save you have to click 'Properties' and fill in all the scenario details. Why not just a save button for the army?
The navigation through the scenario editor itself complicates matters, as sometimes there is no 'Back' button and you drop out of the entire editor when you don't want to, having to start all over again.
Would it be an idea to have an extra path to the army develloper via the main menu? Below the 'Digital Army Generator' button, fi.
Also, for a quick non-DAG battle, maybe there could be an army creator that uses the DAG creator system, but without the presets for the numbers of units?
So you could do an all skirmish units battle, for instance. This way you could already have the unit names like 'Roman Raw Legionairies' instead of the 'Irr Roman HF legionairies f'
I think this would greatly improve the fun of doing single player battles.

When I read all the above I'm stunned why people asking questions getting no answers ?!
I mean, there are not many posting forum members around here and even then these guys don't get answered.....
And might you PM them: DON'T , I want to read the answers too ! (It seems so dead otherwise)

I've been trying to install the latest betatest 1.8.15.881_bRC7 and when the intro screen comes on I keep getting the following error message "The local client version is too old. Please update the game." What does this mean?

It means no beta testing until Dan releases the newest version ( which should be soon per his last post)....
