Hey all, first post, thought I would offer some possible suggestions that may help the game with both newcomers and veterans of strategy games alike. Feel free to leave comments about any of the suggestions, preferably quoting the suggestion so it makes it easier for others to see why you either agree or disagree.
Possible improvements:
Add option to multi-select units on a single tile by double-clicking. Should only select units that are equipped with a weapon.
Add ability to multi-select units across map with a drag-able window, should only select units that are equipped with a weapon.
Add option to group units into squads or divisions by using ctrl+1 etc. This could be done in the military window.
Add auto-explore mode to units.
Add option to permanently overlay tile resources on the map.
When moving a unit, the movement arrow should turn red to signify that this unit cannot move that far in a single turn.
Add option to scale the minimap size on screen.
Add option to zoom minimap.
Make minimap drag-able with a lock button and a "return to default position" button. If minimap is dragged away from default position, the "End turn" button moves to the bottom of the screen.
Add "return to default position" button to the "Operations", "Army" and Selection" windows.
Add custom cursor to fit theme.
Add option in graphics menu to disable all animations.
Add option for "Population Control" to be used before the need to raze a city, option should have less of an impact on growth, credits and morale due to the fact that people are still being born, i.e, no measure of population control is absolute. Should be above the "Raze" city button, with an explanation of its effects.
Show potential locations for new city, make option toggle-able in options menu.
Add option in the advanced tab when starting a new game to customise the players colour.
Add option to "Guard Former" to units. (Suggestion from forum member elderotter)
Gonna think of some more things that could be added.

Re: Suggestions after first 30 minutes of gameplay
I would like to add another thought. I would like the ability to make different types of 1 thing. For example colonial troopers. I would like hell fire troopers and missile troopers. When i use the workshop to make these they over-ride each other. The last one being the current make.. even if i rename. Not sure what happens if I use the workshop in different cities, but it would be nice to be able to have different types. I agree with the above suggestion for the stacking of combat units, I would also like to add 1 combat unit stack to the formers - it is nice to have them protected. Still learning the ins and outs. Great game.

Thanks for the reply. I totally agree with the points you made, I will add them to the list with your name next to themelderotter wrote:I would like to add another thought. Edit: I just checked in the game, and it appears that the workshop already allows you to do that. I can make multiple versions of each unit, and customise them.
Re: Suggestions for game improvement
The workshop allows, the button for this is under the unit list, I can't remember the name, but it clones the selected unit so you can change it.

Re: Suggestions for game improvement
ok, thanks.. will check it out.
Note: You are right. if you select a unit and then click the new button it clones it, you can then add improvements and rename it. Thanks for the heads up.
