UK 25mm comp points

Post by nikgaukroger »

Quick question - what is the usual points level for 25mm comps in the UK?

Exhumed my pile of un-made up Warlord stuff last night and need to see how much of an army it makes and how much I'll need to get to make a playable one up.

Returning to where I started wargaming - 25mm Royalists 8) OK, well these are the modern "28mm" and plastic rather than 25mm MiniFigs metal , but you get the drift

I think 650 would be a good place to start. There haven't been many 25(28)mm comps but hopefully there'll pick up. Roll Call next June will have 25mm, so start painting!

As Kevin says 650 points seems to be the standard for 25/28 mm FOG R competitions. There is the annual Farnborough 25 mm competition and next year David Fairhurst is thinking of running a 25 mm FOG R and FOG AM competition on different days to create an overall 25 mm champion.

The rate I paint 28mm that may be an optimistic target - 2015 maybe more realistic

Guess it is likely to be an open comp :(

Yes, it will be open to give the most people the chance to enter. I'll be starting my painting as soon as I finish my current project, nothing like a hard deadline as an incentive!

We'll if I get the army done I may just enter despite that - playing with new toys and all that :D However, there is an 18mm project to finish first ...

On the positive side I reckon I'm only short of 1 BG's figures and commanders so it shouldn't be too expensive which is nice 8)
