Panzer Corps lands on iPad and looks for testers!
As announced during the Press Conference at Historicon, wargamers who want to play their favorite titles everywhere using a mobile device will receive some very nice surprises from the end of 2013 onwards.
The first new masterpiece to land on iPad will be the award-winning Panzer Corps Wehrmacht, developed by Flashback Games Studio and the Lordz Games Studio (http://www.thelordzgamesstudio.com) !
In the iPad version of the game, you will find all the gameplay elements of the PC version for a true and satisfying wargaming experience on your tablet. Campaigns, hundreds of units and all the major and minor nations are there, and you will give the orders by just tapping with your finger!
Also at release all 10 of the Grand Campaigns, Afrika Korps and Allied Corps will be available as In-App Purchases for complete and endless strategy fun.
However, to accomplish this we need your help. The game has just entered Beta Testing, and if you have the skills and the time to give us a hand improving it, sign up here and enter the Beta!
Please note that applying does not guarantee a spot, it simply puts you in line. Beta testers are added in waves in the order of application, so applying earlier gives you a better chance of making it into the beta test.

Re: Panzer Corps lands on iPad and looks for testers!
May I ask is there a build currently ready or is it against the non disclosure act?
Re: Panzer Corps lands on iPad and looks for testers!
I signed up for the beta test programme, having first pledged my mortal soul via the Non-Disclosure Agreement. It has now gone eerily silent, I can only presume that Slitherine are signing up testers well in advance of the software being released for test.

Just so you know guys we have been overwhelmed with applications and only a small % of those who applied are going to get a space. We'd love to let in more but Apple have very strict limits on how many we can do.

If you received an email asking for your UDID does that mean you are in or in line for the beta?

We usually get a a significant drop out rate when we ask for anything like a UDID. We had replied from 80% of the people mailed within 24 hours. We were staggered by the response. We wont be able to add you all unfortunately. We have many multiple times as many testers as we have room for.

Will you guys be allowed to add more testers or time? Or is the first wave it?

Apple allow 100 devices across all our games and developers... no special cases, no ability to have more. I have 4 devices on my own...
We're struggling to come up with a plan for how to deal with this with the number of games we have coming and how large developers & publishers cope. I assume they don't do any external testing and do it all internally.

And exactly how many people applied? In my opinion I don't want to be rude to anyone (because this will benefit myself and other forum users) but you should add people who are more active in the Community and write AARs and such. Or very active in MP activities. While this cuts out lots if people, it grants more reliable info and speeds up progress so we can get that November release on time!

My wife, who was a professional software tester before retirement, suggests the following to try to deal with your unfortunate constraints.IainMcNeil wrote:Apple allow 100 devices across all our games and developers... no special cases, no ability to have more. I have 4 devices on my own...
We're struggling to come up with a plan for how to deal with this with the number of games we have coming and how large developers & publishers cope. I assume they don't do any external testing and do it all internally.
1. Prioritise volunteers who have played the game before on other platforms, they will be able to prove the game out faster.
2. Set strict deadlines for responses from the testers and disqualify those who do not provide assessments of defects to your timescales. Replace the disqualified testers with others from the queue of volunteers and set them new strict deadlines.
3. Keep beta test phases short so that you can schedule more games to be tested per unit time.
4. Publish lists of known defects to the beta testers, so that these external testers do not waste time following known failure paths.
I consider these suggestions to be useful under the circumstances.

What about the people who read the forums, but do not write? I often look through the forum but rarely write off. I play PzC on PC and Battle Academy for Ipad

Re: Panzer Corps lands on iPad and looks for testers!
That's why my way is rather unfair. But I think we should use Steveshaws way. It's much more effective. I've beta tested on iPad before with Battle Academy so I'm familiar with the system and I write AARs for the beta. Former Panzer Corps players and beta testers should be added in the first wave.robert1025 wrote:LandMarine47 wrote:And exactly how many people applied? Re: Panzer Corps lands on iPad and looks for testers!
I realise that I fall into the category of person that is not a forum regular.
I have played Battle academy on Ipad along with Panzer corps on my laptop.
I read about the PC beta test over on Pocket tactics I site, I regularly visit but have not enlisted in.
However personally, I would rather a spot that I may take up, go to a long term member around here.
I would feel that to be the right decision.
All I ask is that it's done correctly so I can throw my money at Sliterine.
