Forum suggestion

Post by Scruff »

Hiya guys

I was wondering if we can have say a subforum for building and painting armies for example, that way it keeps it all in one place. I got the idea when I was fishing for info on my newly arrived xyston figs.

cheers

Yes the forum is getting very busy so splitting some sections off woudl make sense.

How woudl it be best to split things?
* Army selection/design & feedback
* Painting, figures, terrain etc

Do these make sense and should there be any others?

Those two sound sensible to me, the army selection one should be focused on the game side of armies and the painting one on the modeling and figure choice.

If I set these up hammy do you want to start migrating threads to the correct sub forums?

I had a feeling that was going to crop up

I am happy to move threads but I will not go all the way back into the history.

Hi chaps,

The http://www.wabforum.co.uk/ is divided up quite sensibly. It might provide some useful inspiration.

I have moved a fair number of posts into the two new sub forums. If you can't find a post here it may well be in one of them.

Also as I looked down the list it seemed that there were a fair number of opponents wanted, club info, tournament announcments that could probably be lumped together into a where can I play sub forum.

Thanks hammy - an opponent finder/ player location forum could be useful. I'll add that too.

Trev - I wasn't able to access the wab forum for some reason but thanks anyway!

Cheers Iain,

It might make sense to have opponents and tournaments in the same sub forum. That way we could sticky tournaments and leave the other posts normal.

Nice split of the forums, I think they will add a lot of utility. Thanks for that

Hi Iain,

Here are the group headings they use:

Forum Information
General Discussion
Tactics
Army Builder
Who and what is online
Modelling
Gallery
Trades & Sales
UNOFFICIAL Army Lists
Gaming Scenarios
Off Topic Forum
Variants
Competition & Events
- This last one usually has sub forums for specific events

The Rules Forum

Underneath these general groups are groups for the historical periods. This is how they group them.

Future Supplements
Biblical
Classical Period
Dark Ages / Early Medieval
Medieval
The Far East

It seems a lot but does make it easier to find things and ignore posts that don't interest you.

I hope that helps.
