1939 Scenario - Hot Seat - Version 3.0 - German PP Loss

Maybe I am missing something. Shortly after Barbarossa in 1941, starting in the July 1941 turns, the German resource total is taking an unexplained loss of about 150 PP's per turn. I cannot determine the cause of this. I have gone back three times to reply and each time the German PP level takes this massive penalty and consistently goes each turn into a larger deficit. Is this a bug or is there a military/diplomatic cause? Has anyone else seen this?

there are several things that can see you penalised in PP's

- to many units rer type
- to many tranpsorts
- to many invasions
- to many troops in the Med

could any of these be in play?

Penalty for too many German units in Africa. But 150 PP's is pretty steep. I have played this game in its various versions for years but have never seen 150 PP per turn penalty. Nothing else really causing PP loss (invasions, transports, etc). Pretty standard campaign strategy. France falls, propping up the Italians in Africa, average U Boat campaign in the Atlantic.

Chart from the manual on Axis supply in the Med.
The Axis had limited capability for supplying troops in the Mediterranean theater.
So you must be 12 points above your supply capability / limit.
Which by the chart is 2 *(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12) (2 * 78) = 156 or (1+12) * 12 = 156

FWIW, when I play the game solo it generates pop-ups at the beginning of the turn if you are being penalized for not enough axis supply in North Africa. When you over use transports and/or amphibious invasions or rail the game generates a pop-up immediately saying how much the over use cost is. Is it possible you're clicking through these pop-ups without reading them?

Thanks guys. Have been away from the game for a while and didn't realize the Malta penalty had become that expensive. There were pop ups but they cut off the total cost of having too many Axis units in Africa. Lost Benghazi and Tobruk at the same time and didn't take in the impact. Enjoying the V 3.0 upgrade very much. One of the most addicting computer games in my opinion.

If your messages are being cutoff the font is too large.
You need Hattenschweiler font.

Appreciate the font link. Will download now. I see from other forums that the new V 3.0 is compatible with Windows 8 so plan to load this on to another computer. I have to say again how much I appreciate this game. Compared to other WW2 European theatre simulations, I find this the best balance between depth and playability. Again, thanks to all who helped with this issue and next time I will put my glasses on when reading through the manual.
