Reforming Diagram Page 71

Post by duncanis »

I'm a complete newbie here, yet to play my first game, so apologies if this seems a stupid question!

On the Reforming diagram, page 71, it states that the Roman Velites are disordered after evading. My understanding is that only terrain causes disorder.

Also, when the Velites reform, they appear to have moved forward about 2 base depths. In the reforming section, 1st bullet point states, "It reforms... level with the furthest forward base in that direction." Have they cleared the HF then made a slight advance?

Any clarification of the above points would be appreciated. Hope to play first game tomorrow!

Thanks,

Ian

No questions are stupid - especially when just starting out.
On the Reforming diagram, page 71, it states that the Roman Velites are disordered after evading. My understanding is that only terrain causes disorder.
It is specifially in the interpenetration section when a BG cannot get fully through a BG. They are placed part way through and considered disorederd until they move again.
Also, when the Velites reform, they appear to have moved forward about 2 base depths. In the reforming section, 1st bullet point states, "It reforms... level with the furthest forward base in that direction." Have they cleared the HF then made a slight advance?
This is therefore becaure the LF have now moved and they automatically reform once clear of the cause of disorder as with terrain.
