Saved games lost (OS X Mountain Lion)

Post by patbona »

I updated the game in Aug 2013. I did not use it again until now.

I tried to play today and was greeted by a screen asking me to enter the serial numbers. The screen said BA needed to connect to the net and that it was a normal process. After that BA forced me to re-enter the serial numbers. After having re-entered I could run the game again, but with all saved games gone.

Needless to say that I now consider buying BA and it's extension was a mistake, and yes my trust level for your products is down to the ground.

It's not the 1st time that I had to re-enter the serial numbers but that one is one too much. You should really improve how saved games are dealt with.
I'm half-expecting an answer like "you deleted the saved games folder / files"... Please don't I will not buy into that as I don't even know where the files are stored. I did not even delete them from the game.

BA is very good, but having to re-enter the serials and losing the saved games kills some of the fun. Also you updated are not really user friendly, I am fed up re-entering the serials and now having lost games.

Sorry you are having problems. The savegames and other data are stored in ~/Documents/My Games/BBCBA. One reason this folder could be missing is if you are playing using a different user account. Otherwise I can't explain why the folder would vanish - it's not something we have had reported before. Do you have any kind of automated cleanup running which might have moved them? Some iCloud setting perhaps?

Cheers
