Post by Cunctator65 »

I installed the new upgrade hoping that it would not happened again...
As in the previous version, in the middle of the game, during the axis turn (AI), the game freezes.

Hi,
If it concerns the AI nothing has not been changed since the vanilla version
Really. With no more info than it crashed it is hard to determine
What maybe causing it. We asked about bugs back in December last year
When we were thinking about the next version
Also nothing has been reported before we finished up the next c3.00

Also we have had 1or 2 AAR's playing as the Axis and no reports
Of bugs. So more info is needed.
Game turn what side is played by the AI. If you noticed
What occurred before the crash or was it a freeze.
Also was there error messages in a DOS window.

The date/turn is: 1941 April 3 (30).
AI is running axis.
Convoy interphase.
A convoy is reaching England ... when it is on the northern tip of Ireland everything freezes.
In the dos screen it is written (in the last row):
at game.Game.run<Game.java:25628>
No error messages.
The save file is attached.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It seems like one of the convoys is in a hex where a sub is also located. So the game grabs the unit in the location being defined as for a convoy and gets the sub instead. Then it tries to give it a convoy destination location. That is not possible for a sub.

So the question is how you managed to get a sub to end up in the same hex as a convoy. That is not supposed to be possible since we can have only 1 unit per hex.

I'm afraid that I did not manage anything.
The sub is axis controlled and Ai is playing axis, not me.
Furthermore I have not any kind of control over the convoys.
I have to add that the game freezes at the end of the first convoy's movement.
Any suggestion?

Always save at the end of your turn. If game freezes then reload last save. There is a big chance that situation will not be repeated.

I had it around 4 times in my game and I ended up with saving end of my turn each time.
Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

Did you only experience this problem against the AI or against a human opponent? The latter would be a bug. The former could be anything since we have not updated the game code for AI play. So it's possible the AI is cheating and moving units in illegal ways that means situations on the map happen that can crash the game.

First of all, thanx for the precious help.
I managed to reach the 43th turn, saving every turn.
I'm sorry to report that at the end of convoy phase the game is frozen again.
It seems that when a convoy exit form the screen ending its movement the system crash.
It is a great game but my machine refuses to treat it properly.
I attach once again my save.

P.s.: I never played multiplayer.
