Support Question

Post by Scrumpy »

Can a unit of Roman Infantry that have 4 HF or MF with 2 LF attached support a 12 man HF unit?

Can't see anything that says the can't, but that usually means I have missed the rule.

That's a really interesting question, and I'd say yes, but not from any rules clarrification, just a gut feeling.

Rear support requires that the supporting bases be non-skirmishers (p 143 - Rear Support). LF that are part of a mixed BG do not count as skirmishers (Troop Function Catagories, p 18). So all bases of a mixed battle group count as battle troops (non-skirmishers) for rear support.
