Build: 0.21.0
Faction: Terra Salvum
Medium World/ Continents/ Easy/ Low Aggression/ Average world settings
Observations:
1. Experienced my first update the other night: no issues with download.
2. I'm finding that I have to re-learn my early game strategies: the approaches I developed in SMACX and Deadlock do not apply here! I'm getting my butt kicked repeatedly in the early game because I'm not dedicating enough resources to defense. I've even had AIs from other continents sail units over and conquer my cities! Bah!

3. Haven't figured out a good tech beeline to date. Currently I first go towards Mineral enhancing techs, then to "Naval Transportation Logistics" so I can start exploring Sea Ruins. Then I head towards Humanoid War Machines so I can build Mechs.
4. Aircraft versus naval units for exploration: I'm finding using aircraft to explore is much better than naval units, as aircraft have the option of moving onto land to escape enemy units.
5. How soon do people build their first Colonizer? I'm finding if I crank one out too early, that I lose the resulting city to AI aggression.
6. A tactic I have developed is that I will plan my base placement such that I can use a Hive as a defensive position: by placing the Hive between myself and the AI, then the AI needs to either go around or thru the Hive. Anyone else have any experience with this tactic?
7. Finally conquered my first base! Tactic I used was to declare war, let the AI come to me and beat himself to death on my defenses, then I went over to the offensive against his depleted forces. Once I conquered the base it was interesting to see the buildings the AI had built - I like to see what the AI is up to in the games I play. Question: is there any way to crack open a game and view each of the AIs' (a la the Scenario Generator option in SMACX)?
8. Windowed mode! Thanx Canute!
