First hour feedback

I am super excited! I've been tracking this game for a long time and am so happy to be a part of the beta.

My initial thoughts/feelings during the first 5 minutes/half hour were great! I love the font and the general feel and responsiveness of it all.
As an Alpha Centauri fan, this game makes me rejoice!!! It feels like a worthy successor! :)

Here are some random notes/feedback from me after about 2 hrs of play:

- When in the workshop, I definitely wanted to spin the model around with my mouse (though the rotating is cool)
- I was unsure of the growth/food mechanics (and I am a 4x fan....)
- Research I feel could use some more/different music, or an animation, or a voice-over... something to make research completion feel a bit more special
- An auto-explore button would be nice
- An animation for units set to "guard" mode would also be good to see
- Sometimes I want to see the yields of the whole map, and did not have a former/colonizer handy... maybe there is a way to do this, but I could not figure it out
- It was a bit tedious to use the scroll bar in the research screen - I constantly found myself trying to click and drag the screen in order to see up the research tree
- I also kept on trying to select a research objective I saw further in the tree, but wasn't allowed to - selecting every single research objective on the way to the one I know I want was tedious


Otherwise with some general polish, I could not be more pleased. I look forward to excessive hours of awesome with Pandora!!!!!!!!11one :D
