Re: Who would be interested in this?
I think it's great to have this extra section so that the faster players who like to have many matches can get their fix.
Re: Who would be interested in this?
are you limited if you only have 1 expansion pack(immortal fire) if not count me in

Re: Who would be interested in this?
This one requires the "Eternal Empire" expansion. But with "Immortal Fire" you're set for the Classical Antiquity-section.grandad wrote:are you limited if you only have 1 expansion pack(immortal fire) if not count me in

Re: Who would be interested in this?
The committee, in its infinite wisdom (
), has decided that this section will run in Season 1. We will be approaching Slitherine for sponsorship in the next few days. Turk1964 (Mark) will be the convenor for this part of the FOG Digital League and he will be posting more information shortly.

Eternal Empire Themed Section is full
Hello to you all,
We will shortly be sending out invitations to participate in the themed section of the FOG Digital League. We will be seeking 16 players with 2 extras as reserves. At this stage recruitment to this section will be by invitation only so please watch your message box.
This is a “mirror match” competition where players will also be using their opponent’s army. Armies will be selected randomly for each player in a pre-tournament draw. We have placed them together in four distinct historical periods and we have checked the armies to ensure that their performance is balanced.
So, as you receive your invitation, please register quickly in this thread to avoid disappointment.
Cheers and good luck,
Turk1964 (convenor for this section)
The format will be . . .
In the first phase, players play in groups of 4 and have three "mirror matches" against their opponents. Players will be allocated their main army by a pre-competition draw. The top 2 from each group will go through to the knock-out stage where again all matches (quarter-finals, semi-finals and final) will be mirror matches. The player with the better aggregate score will progress to the next round. The semi-final and final will use scenarios designed by myself - two famous eastern European battles, Kosovo Polje and Grunwald-Tannenberg.
Group matches must be completed by Sunday 3rd November; quarter-final matches by Sunday 17th November; semi-final matches by Sunday 1st December and the final by Sunday 15th December.
Group 1 (Dimitry Donskoi group)
1. Later Russians, early
2. Later Lithuanians
3. Golden Horde, later
4. Timurids
Group 2 (Osman I group)
1. Early Ottoman Turks
2. Central Byzantine
3. Later Bulgarians
4. Later Serbian, early
Group 3 (Louis the Great group)
1. Middle Hungarians
2. Venetian Condotta (outside Italy)*
3. Later Lithuanians, early
4. Later Serbian
Group 4 (Skanderbeg group)
1. Later Ottoman Turks
2. Wallachians
3. Moldavians
4. Albanians
Quarter-Finals
Later Hungarians (early) v Hussites
Semi-Finals
Battle of Kosovo 1389 scenario
Final
Battle Of Grunwald-Tannenberg 1410 scenario
All matches are "mirror matches".
