Further Plans
Question to Slitherine. Are there planned to be Soviet corps, and if yes, what next? Maybe wargames on themmes of more far back wars( of 16-18 centuries? or even older), or maybe kind of fantasy general remake.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Further Plans
A Soviet Corps is pretty much confirmed. And I think the community is working on them to release a series of Allied Corps DLCs like for the Wehrmacht edition

I'd like to see a "Prussian Corps" set during the napoleonic warsKeldorKatarn wrote:A Soviet Corps is pretty much confirmed. And I think the community is working on them to release a series of Allied Corps DLCs like for the Wehrmacht edition

But if an AC GC is confirmed we need to be able to play as Poland, Norway, France, and Belgium. (Maybe a scenario for the good ol' Dutch too

Re: Further Plans
I always thought of an allied corps DLC along traditional British or American lines. I don't see how it could work playing as the conquered countries if they follow a historical path. How could the defeated nations progress and what new equipment would they get ?But if an AC GC is confirmed we need to be able to play as Poland, Norway, France, and Belgium. (Maybe a scenario for the good ol' Dutch too) and some more "Disputes" with the Soviets

Re: Further Plans
That's an interesting question. Just thinking out loud, I suppose that if a player wins a DV as (for example) the Dutch, by successfully preventing conquest with Allied help, then the Dutch core might continue in, or be imported into, a subsequent campaign. That campaign could be either historical or counterfactual. If historical, I guess we would pick up the action again in late 1944 or early 1945. If counterfactual, we could imagine another German invasion in 1941 or 1942, just to make things interesting.soldier wrote:I always thought of an allied corps DLC along traditional British or American lines. Re: Further Plans
Given the amount of Polish soldiers that fought for the Western Allies after the fall of Poland, I would say nothing speaks against some Polish units being taken over to the core from scenarios covering the Polish campaign. Of course they should be upgradable with british equipment then. I would like a handful of Poland 1939 scenarios with a small core before the scenarios on the western front.soldier wrote:I always thought of an allied corps DLC along traditional British or American lines. Re: Further Plans
I agree. It is not hard to imagine "historical" Grand Campaigns for Poland and France, since units from these countries contributed significantly to the war effort. Plus, in both cases, it might be possible to introduce "irregular force" scenarios or campaigns. In the French case, at least, the irregular and regular forces would ultimately join forces on the historical path. In the Polish case, such a meeting would, sadly, be counterfactual, but still satisfying to play.

Re: Further Plans
Well if it goes in historical path I don't think we could get any core Poles
as your troops have no way of getting to France. They will still be around just as auxiliary forces. Now the French is a different story as you can evacuate them in a Dunkirk scenario. I also want to have some Core Canadian Divisions as they played a prominent role during the war. Australian, New Zealander, and Indian units can be a core force but won't leave the Mediterranean Theater.
And just for fun they should throw in a SeaLion if you somehow fail Dunkirk. It would be fun to play from the side of the British.

Re: Further Plans
Historically, there are a couple of ways this could play out. Some Polish units fought in Norway and France and wound up in Britain until D-Day. Alternatively (and perhaps more famously), the player could follow the path of the Polish II Corps, which arrived via the Soviet gulag to North Africa, and fought in Italy for the remainder of the war.LandMarine47 wrote:Well if it goes in historical path I don't think we could get any core Polesas your troops have no way of getting to France.

Re: Further Plans
Then in that case like the other Commonwealths I mentioned they can be a core force, just they can only fight in Italy. Perhaps one or 2 can stick with you into D-Day but thats about it. I'd like to see the Polish Paras that were supposed to land with the Brits in Arhnem as well.
Re: Further Plans
I have a feeling that the developers won't take my advice with Switzerland Corps.
...but my dreams of Pacific Corps are still in the far off distance I imagine.

Cold War Corps....
Re: Further Plans
I would like to see a Pacific Corps (Allies vs. Japanese) and something like Panzer Corps: 1946 with some more fictional scenarios and units based on blueprints etc.

Re: Further Plans
We all want a Pacific Corps but what about a Korean Corps with fictional scenarios where the UN invades China after the deceleration of war
Re: Further Plans
I think a Russian Corps would be great.

Re: Further Plans
That game might even work by focusing on the few offensives that took place. early serbian front, then the early western front, and then the eastern front once the western front turns into trench warfare. The trench combat itself should be avoided. Can't be done well in this engine (and was completely useless and boring even in real life. Just throwing people into a meat grinder over and over and over...)

Re: Further Plans
That's why most people avoid the Great War. It's just a meat grinder and stalemate. If a game like that is made it will focus on the first few days of the offensive. After that you head to the next, to avoid the Trench Warfare. PzC isn't like that
. But CTGW is enjoyable! It makes you kind of like Trench Warfare (that's how I felt) knowing you can't just steamroll the AI. Next to all battles take place at one point to breach a line of trenchs.
