1) Do you always disrupt your friends if you hit them while routing or is that only on the initial rout move?
2) What happens if a BG would end any rout move in the middle of, as opposed to passing through, a friend?

1) yes, unless they can legally interpenetrate.Eques wrote:1) Do you always disrupt your friends if you hit them while routing or is that only on the initial rout move?

2) generally they burst through. Read up in the interpenetration & bursting through rules.

Re: Routing and Disrupting
Initial Routs are on page 106, JAP routs on page 115. If they are legally interpenetrating friends, then see pages 49-50 to see if they pass through. The rules are different for light foot and other troops. If they cannot pass through, then they burst through per page 51 and are placed on the far side of the friends if there is room. If there isn't room, then most people in this forum say the troops bursting through are destroyed. I still have an unanswered question on that in a different thread which no one is wants to answer.
Re: Routing and Disrupting
For your 2nd question, as it happened to me last year at Britcon, according to Hammy you will pass/burst through (just like LF) your friendly BG - provided there is room on the other side of that BG. If there is not room, you will not burst through and will be destroyed and removed.

Re: Routing and Disrupting
If no room beyond the friendly then the bursting through unit is picked up with no cohesion test for it, true. Just so there is no mis-understanding. The friendly unit is still counted as burst through and it drops 1 cohesion level unless the friends can normally interpenetrate it.Caliph wrote:For your 2nd question, as it happened to me last year at Britcon, according to Hammy you will pass/burst through (just like LF) your friendly BG - provided there is room on the other side of that BG.
