One big list?
I mentioned this over the weekend. What about if a couple of us got together and compiled a comprehensive list of all user-made scenarios? It would be quite a big job to identify them all but maybe we could get it done by Xmas? The format of the list could be to put the battles in date order from the earliest to the most recent and then provide all the various links for each battle. It would mean going right the way through the scenario forum and checking that the links were still working. Once compiled we could put it in the "stickies" for players to find easily. The two or three people involved in the project could share private e-mails and take it in turns to update the document.

OK Nick, if we let this thread run until next Sunday and see if anyone else wants to join in, then we can make a start. Between us our own two lists will give us a start in both the ancient and medieval periods and zeabed also has a list that we can easily incorporate into the big list. Then we can take it in turns to add the work of the other scenario writers. The difficult bit will be to methodically go right through the scenario forum and add the work of occasional, or one-off scenario writers. We will have to check that the links still work as well. It sounds a lot but if we can get a third person to join us then it will be quite a manageable task.alzado_77 wrote:Happy to help when I have time!
It will help people find stuff more easily and it might suggest to Slitherine that they could release one or two more Battlepacks in the future.

I'd agree in principle - from what I've seen these scenarios are more comprehensive than most of the existing efforts and help take the game to where it should really be at...

Re: One big list?
Of course, with the arrival of the new game engine not too far off now, it will probably mean that the current group of scenario writers will probably want to re-check/update many of their scenarios as the game will not be exactly the same as it was. In addition, I have noticed that some of my scenarios that were selected for Battlepack 1 have been altered a bit, and not necessarily in a good way, so I will want to try and get them changed back to their original design.alzado_77 wrote:I'd agree in principle - from what I've seen these scenarios are more comprehensive than most of the existing efforts and help take the game to where it should really be at...

This is under construction now. Me and Nick will get it started and post it on here as a "work in progress". No rush - we hope to get it done before Xmas.

Re: One big list?
Thanks for doing this. Would it be possible to include scenario size and even possibly a rating?

Well, Craig (massina_nz) has started rating all the scenarios in the Wiki and he includes the size of the scenario there. I presume that eventually Craig will work his way through them all although he might like some help, I expect. Craig, if you are reading this can you let us know what the scope of your survey is likely to be. I think that if me and Nick get the basic list done first then we can add the information you are asking for from the Wiki, deeter. That will certainly make it a more useful list.deeter wrote:Thanks for doing this. Would it be possible to include scenario size and even possibly a rating?
