austrian 1813 army

Post by bahdahbum »

One question :

In 1813, the army of bohemia may have 1 jaeger/grenzer attachment per division . Where do they come from ? In the different orbats I found, there are no light compagnies in the line divisions or corps. The light infantry is regrouped in light or reserve divisions .

Did the austrians sent some SK to the line divisins before a battle ?

Nafziger shows at least 1 division with a mix of line/landwehr and grenzers in 2 of his lists for the Army of 1813, and in at least 1 list for 1814.
We're being a bit generous in allowing 1 per division, but given the way that the light divisions were used, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that at times, companies of grenzers or Jagers and squadrons of cavalry could be temporarily attached to support other divisions when required.
