One of the best missions I’ve played so far! I can only hope others will follow your shining example. Medal of Honor for you, mate!
I’m glad there are still fan-made high-quality campaigns out there which don’t include hundreds of new units that aren’t compatible to own e-files.

I love the briefings and events that are commented by message boxes during scenarios: warnings, reinforcements, unique hero, counterattacks, etc. It’s good to have a working communication line to HQ what doesn’t make you feel left alone in dead silence on the battlefield.
The possibility to carry over auxiliary units to the next scenario is brilliant. Who says auxiliary units are only cannon fodder?

The only mission where I have complains is the last one:
I’m all fine with too many enemy aircrafts, infantry and light tanks, but there are definitely too many KV tanks smashing my defences!
When I read about prototype, I thought about one tank unit, but you send 3 KV-1A against the holey player line. If that wouldn’t be already a nightmare, there are even 4 KV-2 that join them blasting my strongholds to dust!

I don’t need historical hyper-correctness but the balance goes really nuts there. That’s why I’d prefer for once go with history. Here is a good read about the KV action in Winter War:

There was only one single KV-1 tank, not a whole company or even battalion full of KV tanks, which first went into action on 18 December 39. Later in February, there was less than a handful KV-2s joining the battle in February.

Suggestion: only one KV-1 and KV-2 unit and placing both far behind the huge bulk of other units, so they appear later at the front line. The AI has already enough units…really. I know you can surrender this mission, but if you like some challenge then loosing more or less all core units for the campaign in 40 is not really funny. I want to play maps and not skip them.

Geezus, there were really some tough missions giving me nightmares of stampeding cavalry! The official campaign path felt like a walk in a park compared to yours. If the difficulty still ramps further in 40 then Germany would have lost the war much earlier! :D

I surely overdid it in the Mannerheim Line scenario but that was on purpose. How does it feel against overwhelming odds as the Finns experienced... And a second reason is that i really disliked the DLC '39 Spoils of war scenario and thus i made the Mannerheim Line as a kind of revenge. But i will take your suggestion to heart and adjust the KV department ;).

I did add a few units to the vanilla e-file but still doesn't require the use of GME. I ought it to be a good idea to add some '36 variants and the Pz IVC to get the player started. And while i am replying i can also say the following:

MPC '40 is in its final stages and should be released shortly after i receive the german translations.
MPC '40 imports your MPC '39 core or you can start with a preset core (which is actually my core when i began testing)

Scenariolist:

01. Weser (at the debriefing you have the choice to continue MPC '40 or continue with DLC '39 Oslo + DLC '40)
02. Battle of Bergen
03. Battle of Voss
04. Fortress Hegra
05. Battle of Maastricht (+ Eben-Emael)
06. Panzer battle of Hannut
07. Battle of Gembloux
08. Battle of Abbeville
09. Dunkirk (crushing the beach head)
10. Towards Rouen (as part of Fall Rot)
11. Kalamas (Grecko-Italian war) - Italian core and aux units, no german units allowed
12. Korce (Grecko-Italian war) - Italian core and aux units, no german units allowed - oh no another mission like Mannerheim Line ;)

Scenarios 11 and 12 are part of something new that came into my mind :oops:

When I tried Mannerheim Line for the first time, I thought I can handle a defence where the auxiliary units are. But...yes, yes Mannerheim, I pull back to your line! Damn, that's the Russian Bear in all its paw(n)ing glory!
This last mission makes you regret not to have played all previous missions until the last turn to gather every single prestige point per turn. I did fine on my second attempt until turn 12 or so, but when the KVs appeared, the line crippled everywhere and there was no real chance to reinforce it anymore.
Wish there would be more fortification hexes in the middle and most importantly one or two additional auxiliary units and maybe a bunker more to fill those gaps. I guess playing the mission with aircrafts is the wrong choice if they are grounded most of the time anyway. 88 and artillery in the backyard is the way to go there.
I’m going to restart the whole campaign again and try differently with some adjustments to my unit stats. The campaign really motivated me to add a couple of new early-war unit variants too and research deeper into proper service dates. It's a more exciting feeling if you battle with squishy tanks than later with those metal monsters.

Ah, something else about unique heroes: would be neat if you could give them their real names and maybe even add their original portrait. If I'm not mistaken, it's possible to link to unique portraits in the scenario editor but I haven't tested it yet. I'd grow more fond of "Fritz" than a "Dedicated Gunner". Who needs this shabby Rudel from the original path if you got Fritz!? :D

Nice work Nico. I wish i had more time to play. Between work and the good weather i am still stuck in MFC 36-39 but i am looking forward to the continuation. :)

Hell yes they do. After trying to get MV at Borowska Gora like 5 times i realized i haven't taken enough auxiliary units with me from the previous scenario so i decided to replay the whole campaign.

Now i am stuck at Mokra and i am about to throw my computer out of the window. The first time i played the missions the polish cavalry was an annoyance but it was handleable. Now i keep getting 1:5 outcomes out of 3:1 predictions all the time. The bloody polish cavalry with 10 strength annihilated my 7 strength PzIV in open terrain. I counter attacked it after with another PzIV, PzII and Kradschützen all with at least 8 or more strength ... outcome was the cavalry still had 2 strength left at the end of the round .... i mean seriously this is taking the piss. :P I am about to go for dice mode out of shear frustration.

The auxiliary units can be carried over for a few scenarios. There will be a notification when you have to part from them.
Two things to keep in mind: you cannot simply use them as cannon fodder, you should treat them as they were part of your core. Secondly, auxiliary units are also upgradeable at the deployment phase. Perhaps a few of those could use some better equipment ;). The more auxiliaries survive, the "easier" the following missions will be.
In scenario Mokra you also receive a couple of auxiliary Luftwaffe divebombers (for taking Wilkowieczko). Also a Sturmpz I could be extremely useful in shielding your leading elements towards Mokra. The polish cavalry is not to be underestimated (although they have kept their vanilla values), but a divebomber pounding and/or an artillery barrage, turns them into easy pickings. The trick is also to lure them out of the forests where they are even more formidable.

Tarrak, don't race too quickly ahead with your tanks alone and try to keep your artillery behind. I'm playing with only towed artillery in 39 and it worked building a defensive circle with tanks and inf before Wilkowieczko. From there, await counterattacks and slowly progress further, punching those hellriders and at-guns aside. The north-road there is too dangerous, flanking from the south north-eastwards with another group is advised.

Niki, naming a unit is fine, but additionally showing the real portrait with its name has more charm, don't you think?

I've only tested it by copying the picture into the main folder's UI/heroes directory. Creating these folders in your scenario folder and adding the pic there should work too. Messing with heroes.pzdat is not needed.

Yeah i made a mistake the first playthrough and kept the auxiliaries to far in the back so i didn't managed to get all of them to the evacuation hexes in time. Thats why i decided to replay the campaign.

I am using now more or less the strategy you are describing and it worked fine the last playthrough but with the bad streak with random rolls i had this attempt it just couldn't work.

Wee i finally managed a DV at Battle of Borowa Góra. Spending some prestige to upgrade the auxiliary units and actually sticking to my battle plan instead of improvising in the middle of the battle paid off. I hope to find today enough time to keep going on. :)

- Mannerheim Line: All KV's but 1 KV-1 and 1 KV-2 have been removed

- DLC '39 (Norway scenarios) and DLC '40 has been integrated in the campaign tree as a seperate campaign path after the first scenario
- Hero Picture for the special FJ unit (thanks to Horst)
- 12 new MPC scenarios

Install/Faq in english and german has been added. The mods are in english and german.

Good work Nico. I will have a go at the MPC 40 as soon i manage to find the time to finish MPC 36-39. At Siege of Warsaw by now so i am progressing albeit slow. Damn you real live. :)

Niiiice, still on Modlin fighting my better core units to the fearsome Mannerheim line back. The perfect warm-up...eh cooldown for Norway later!

Total forgot and too late for the 37-39 update now: I noticed that there are sometimes too few starting positions compared to the available core plus SE number. Modlin is one example, can't remember the rest at moment.

What cannot be deployed at first, you can still deploy after the initial units have been moved from the deployment hexes.

Sure, but it’s inconvenient and makes me forget my reserve sometimes on turn two when the battle fever has already overwhelmed me. Too many starting positions can’t hurt because it offers more freedom and opportunities how to approach a scenario.

Btw, the extra installation of the heroes pictures isn't necessary in the main installation folder. Just create a UI and inside a heroes folder in your mod folder. Looking like this:

MPC '37-'39
MPC '37-'39\Data
MPC '37-'39\Localization
MPC '37-'39\UI\heroes (here you copy the *.png files inside)

You can also check out one of bebro's mods. He makes heavily use of extra files.
