much as jim and i are honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as fog r heroes alasdair and don et co can we urge pundits not to part with any folding at the bookies. As paid up members of the "unranked three" we are simply humbled to be in the same (large) room as our icons. hussar harley, the dons, the bearded one, terciosaurus rex, the tete rouge and silermer suasage - not to mention the king of kings, old ney hissell. top ten trouble awaits all who enter the ring but be not afreared and step boldy up when called for it is only a wargame and itsthe craick that really matters. bring it on .......... hunter

Difficult to summon up banter among 6 players when they all know Paddy will win, Terry Shaw will come 2nd and Andy Kitcher 3rd!

At least they've all got Nappy Rankings! Maybe we should make FOGR ranked players only - don't want the novices lowering standards do we!!!

I once got a trophy and money coming third and my traditional 'middle of the pack' at the same time :)

Hunter, you are only unranked because you refuse to send the results in for the rankings... Not really a valid reason for claiming a handicap...

I would fully expect to get turned over by your host nigel. When I said 'either way" I meant win or lose you'd be at the bar quicker with the movement trays. Certainly didn't mean I assumed you'd lose or to cause any offence. Its only john I consciously offend. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Hunter.

The sending of results is mere detail tim. The fact remains that the "unranked three" remain ... well ... unranked. I've thought carefully about the situation and concluded that the field are in fact honouring us by accpepting us into the ranks as we are. Hunter

Hunter , I fear your protestations of incompetence are beginning to sound hollow, with members of this sophisticated wargame's forum now being well acquainted with the mind games you are trying to play. Any vestiges of sympathy have dissolved quicker than the Wicked witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz. Fortunately the other players have our own Great Oz aka RBS to put paid to your nefarious schemes. By copying his army list you have by now attracted the wrath of this powerful ally of truth, justice and the FOGR. No sooner can you say "Harold Shipman" and you will be begging for mercy at his now Imperial Spanish forces.
Indeed it is some time since I wrote such articulate drivel.

Hi Hunter, no offence taken, or thought had been implied, my reply was banter... I'm all for taking/receiving the mick...

Well, today's the day when the goading stops and the action starts.

Will Hunters protestations of incompetence be shown to be bulls..t or a reasoned assessment,; is Nigel really looking to be at the bar first (as a winner); is John's modestly a ploy; will Lurkio win all his games 25-0 as all his opponents forfeit their games rather than expose their tiny tin soldiers to the shame of being compared to FoGR's equivalent of well dressed men; does the good doctor have a bitter pill for us all to swallow and can Richard use the Western Sudenese with the same ruthless efficiency shown by John last year? Lastly is the ominous silence of the "Horse Master" a sign of quiet, steely determination and confidence to grab back his rightful crown? All will be revealed in the next 60 hours.

It only remains for me to wish everyone good luck, good dice ( although hopefully not as good as mine) and a safe journey to the "basho"!

See you all later.

Well it is over halfway through Saturday and no indication of how it is going. So what is the latest position?

Has Nigel lost all his games, Alasdair and Byron won all theirs? How is Hunter doing?
