Danes in the service of Louis XIV

Hi All,

I've mostly built my Louis XIV army out of Venexia miniatures. I have 2 Regiments (BG's) to go and I'm done.

Unfortunately, Sgt Major Miniatures (owner of Venexia) is having no end of trouble getting masters done and I really really REALLY want to have the army finished by MOAB in October.

So, I've been trying to get some solutions and thought of this:

I've always looked at the Later Danish list and thought they looked like a viable army (if a little expensive). What if I was to build 2 BG's of Danes in grey coats from Lurkio. There were several regiments of Danes who wore grey coats. All I'd need to do was change the flags once Venexia got up and running and I'd have two regiments of my Danes already painted.

So, I guess my question is, was there a great deal of difference in the uniforms of the Danes and that of the French. I understand that pretty much everyone in Europe during the War of the League of Augsberg time pretty much wore the same uniform.

My understanding is that most other uniforms were very similar but the French had extra frilly bits. I think your idea is fine.

Yes, I saw that you did on your website. Thanks for letting me know, but it's kinda pointless without the musketeers unfortunately. It's really getting frustrating :/
