Rest assured you're all in the new rankings - all except the "unranked three". if i read rght you're at 46, nigel and byron's at 73. simon lrm is in at 9 and dave of the clan redhead (somewhat appropriate for a scotsman) is at 8. the reigning world champion by contrast is at 39!!!!!! i suspect tim may have installed a secret camera at perth wargames club and audited the footage of our recent thursday night games before finalisng the positions. hunter.

Nigel, if you entered competitions under a nom-de-guerre that includes the word 'Dave' then you might well be 10th in the Rankings... If however some muppet is entering competitions using the name Nigel Emsen then no he is not ranked in the top10 (makes it to the top 50 this time though...)

Ok with no vested interested, other than the "Don" is our Chauffuer for the weekend.
I reckon the following to be the placings. Although I think its very draw dependant and the drop a score will be an interesting twist.

Re: Britcon 2013
to make things more interesting and remove a bit of tactical point play...
Why not when the draws go up.. the pts running total is left off and only the players ladder position is displayed... players keep a personal count... and as much or little as they want public..
its just a bug bear of mine when at the end of the comp and before the awards are made, ive seen people do a count up and go have not won anything, i'm off early... I fully understand trains to catch, the extra 45mins will make a difference to traffic jams.. but i find it personally a bit show of bad sportsmanship to go when, staying on would have been possible to clap on the winners... I always stay, its just polite (imo) anyway my winge over and back to the reasonable activety of banter...

Re: Britcon 2013
thank you jim for that vote of confidence. your cheque is in the post! i trust this was based on the assumption that the "unranked three" would benefit from a universally agreed army point handicapping system. alas this forward thinking option has not yet been endorsed by the field and we await one brave individual coming forward to champion our cause. if we are doing top six my guess is

Re: Britcon 2013
I am afraid Spotted Dog's chances have been much reduced as he has lost his entry acknowledgement and cannot print his entry off. In addition, I seem to recall that dogs are not allowed in the gaming area.
I do not think I will be near the podium this year. I feel I have made a bad army choice in that my army is pretty immobile when my successes in the past have been based in being able to move speedily around the battlefield. I am so lacking in confidence that, unlike other players who are painting this year's army, I have already started painting my army for next year!!

Re: Britcon 2013
So rankings out we have in the competition the following ranked positions:
1,2,3,4,6,8,9,14,16,19,23,29,32,33,34,39,(46),55,73,scot 1,scot 2, scot 3, newbie 1...
If Britcon the Wimbledon of the uk wargaming competition circuit? If so... rank outsider could take the plate then
No Ben this year, a missing top ten ranking and RJC.. Almost a full house for the top 10, clash of titans...

Re: Britcon 2013
Because, having created spreadsheets to manage all of the competitions at Britcon, I'm not going to change them now! After Round 4 you will be able to see your total, lowest and current scores. Apart from anything else it means you know what we're working with, so if there are any cock ups they'll get identified early, rather than after we've presented the prizes. Why not when the draws go up.. the pts running total is left off and only the players ladder position is displayed... players keep a personal count... and as much or little as they want public..

Hi kevin, It was only an idea... Of course I was nt suggesting or expecting any major changes to spreadsheets... even with copy/paste/delete exersise...kevinj wrote:Because, having created spreadsheets to manage all of the competitions at Britcon, I'm not going to change them now! rest assured, john if your eyesight was failing i'd be first in line to help you to a busy road. hadn't appreciated that we had just about all of the top ten rankers in the basho. surely one of the top tenors will have mercy on the "unranked three".
