Slings and their uses

Is it true that slings cannot support in the impact phase like crossbows , bows and firearms? just checking so I know what to paint ,i always liked slings but If I am right I will choose bows every time .

It is true, however, for Bows, Longbows, Crossbows or Fire Arms to support they must be part of the BG in combat and can only support MF or HF - thus a BG of LF doesn't get support shooting in the Impact Phase.
