Starter Armies Equal In Points?

Post by Blathergut »

I was just wondering...i used the army calculator on the Late Rep. Roman starter army and the Ancient Spanish one as well....Spanish came in around 480pts...poor ol' Romans at 428pts...

Is that much of a difference? It seems to be...2 less BG for the Romans...

Just wondering how the sizes of the starter armies was determined.

I suspect you are missing generals and camps. The Spanish starter army has an FC and 2 TCs, the Romans have an IC, 2 TCs and a fortified camp The Roman generals and camp are 54 points more than the Spanish.

All the starter armies are between 590 and 600 points and mostly to the top of that range.

They are all broadly equal in strength with troops and generals combined - allowing for a bit of rounding here and there.
