MOAB 2013 - 5th-7th October, 2013 in Sydney
Hi All,
I'll be running the MOAB 2013 15mm 800AP Field of Glory:Renaissance comp. It will be an open competition with BYO terrain.
Anyone welcome. As unlikely as it may see, international visitors would be a real bonus.

Just to advise that the MOAB site is up. It is possible for people to register, so if you're interested please show the flag.
I'm going to be there - naturally, I'm running the damned thing - and will be using Later Louis XIV.
So, build your Louis killer army and lets get going

Possibly the first use of Poles in a comp for a year or 2 - well done to that man - brave choice. Wish I was ballsy enough to try it.

Hi Guys,
I like a challenge in tournaments and as a rule use a new army each time.
This is my first FOG R tournament so it's going to be all new for me.
And at the end of the day if I perform poorly I can always blame my army instead of the real reason my poor decisions.

I have a rather inane Louis XIV list if you want to try it, I love playing it thought It has yet to play in a singles competition but has done well in one of gamesravenflight wrote:Just to advise that the MOAB site is up. Can't remember exactly (will check when I get home), now checked and corrected
but goes something like this
4 TC's
5 * 3 Dragoons
2 * 2 Heavy Guns
2 * 2 Ave 5+1 French Foot
1 * 4 Superior Carbine Horse
1 * 4 Elite Determined Horse
3 * 4 Superior Determined Horse if its only 3 also has a light horse
I'll check when I get home
Just a thought

As you are new to this, if you took Alasdair's foot and artillery away and made him play against a 'normal' 800 point army it changes neither the result nor the number of battle groups of yours that he destroys...

Thanks Aladair... I think thanks are in order, but I can't see how I could work that list. Maybe someone of your skill would do well, but I think I'd come up with a LOT of 25-0 results... and not the way I want 25-0alasdair2204 wrote:I have a rather inane Louis XIV list if you want to try it, I love playing it thought It has yet to play in a singles competition but has done well in one of gamesravenflight wrote:Just to advise that the MOAB site is up. Besides, I have my list already drawn up and have to get cracking on the final paintjob.

Stephen, if you (and others) wish to join the FieldofGloryAu@yahoogroups.com.au it would probably be a good place to consolidate questions etc.

Finished painting my last batch of Cossack cavalry today (only the camp to go), should be an interesting historical match up for the Poles!

I guess one quick question - does any regiment have green facings? I really want to do green facings on a grey jacket.
Basically my army thus far is "Colour" troops are guard (French Guard, Swiss Guard & Irish (I know Irish are not technically Guard, but I painted them that way because they stand out AND they would be fairly elite AND you are allowed 18 bases of Guard, so 3 regiments). "Grey" troops are Line, and "Grey" troops with the 12 apostles are militia.

Yes drop us a line
I used my Irish as Line and to be fair as I only use mounted after that I didn't need the rest but for the sake of the rest I have a few other bits and pieces, I manages to get material flags for them all so they don't look to bad
cheers

Hi all,
Well, we have 4 officially registered and a further 4 who have mentioned to me the desire to register. Assuming they DO actually register (one of them is a Cossack player, and we KNOW they are always keen for a fight - even if they DO turn up late) we will have a quorum and the comp will definitely go ahead.
So, if you were delaying entering for fear of it not going ahead, fear not - get your entries in.
I don't have a riders and runners list yet, but will post it when entries close.
