Forests

Seeing some let's plays of other people on youtube, it occurs to me that there are already forests on Pandora from the beginning. I was wondering how the Earth like forests came to Pandora. When arraving on Alpha Centauri (of course in the game Alpha Centauri) the only forests on the planet are those planted by the colonist from Earth. So was there an earlier schip send from earth to seed plantlife on Pandora?

I'm also wondering if polution and the strenght of Pandora's fauna has been taken out of the beta. In the let's play video's of "pewpewchewchew" the fauna of Pandora was very quickly beaten and only the other factions were really any treat 40 minutes in.

Another two question about the eco system of Pandora are: if the fungus will ever expand and if the fungus will ever spawn xenomophs like they did in Alpha Centuari (because the giant nests (Barbarian camps) are nice, the treat of random atacks from empty fungus was really nice in Alpha Centauri).
