Battle of Britain

Post by taffjones »

I thought that in air combat there was no Zone of Control.
I have been playing Battle of Britain in multiplayer and my opponent encircled one of my 109's and reduced it to 1 strength point. On my turn when I tried to return it to a airfield to repair I could not move it :(
Is this a bug or has a ZoC for aircraft been but in place for Battle of Britain?
Also to destroy a airfield does it have to be clear of AAA units when you bomb it?
Thanks in advance for replies clearing up this foe me

a) ZoC is set "unofficially" in a config text-file (data\gamerules.pzdat)
b) You can't destroy an airfield. You can either conquer it or neutralize it.

While it is true that there is no ZOC for aircraft, ZOC only means you cannot pass through empty hexes that are adjacent to enemies. If you are completely surrounded, the rule of not being able to move through an enemy unit still applies.

As for the airfields, destroying the air defense units is not required. You can neutralize the airfields with level bombers, and the air defense units will not be able to reclaim the white flags.
