Now that is really something!!

At these relative sizes, we could pretend that the cruiser is a BB, the destroyer a CL, and the minesweeper an escort DD, couldn't we?
(when folks are actually playing the game, I doubt anyone is going to notice/complain... because the model/scaling will be pretty convincing during the heat of battle)

Now all we need is a CV, an SS, and some merchantmen, and we're good to go... Will PM you!!

I guess we'll have to figure out how to collision detect/avoid for 2-3 length warships, but to make this work, it will be worth it... Hopefully Slith might help? :D

What do the cruiser and destroyer look like with the textures?

Hehe, we sort of cheated LM... but it's taken ages to find high quality but low poly warships that actually work with BA... will explain by PM...

But, hey, how'd you fancy your chances at a US Marine Corps landing supported by the Big One (on the left)?
Pip's talking about enabling multi-turret, so the two turrets could turn in unison, to fire a broadside...
Almost makes you pity the defenders, eh?

It's not me who has made the 3D models. I just load them in 3dsmax, I scales them and I exported them to the format used by BA (.s3f) with the Slitherine's exporter. 8)

WOW AMARIS... Now that's what I'm talking about... Totally nice!!

Now we can take BA into the age of gorgeous 3D naval warfare... You realise that you've just made Pearl Harbour, Darwin, Midway, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Leyte Gulf, Marianas/Philippine Sea, Okinawa all possible... Heck, even the defence of Malta and attack on Taranto... are all wonderfully moddable now...

Cheeky question... Please could you make the landing ship larger (bigger than the destroyer/smaller than the cruiser) and the tanker smaller (should not be as wide as the carrier). And if we're going with the 1 square versions, better make the minesweeper smaller too... I use the bridge windows and deck gun size as an approximate guide to the correct scale for each model.

Man the Germans are lucky they didn't have to face THAT. European Seas were not the best place for that. I'm surprised if the Japanese Navy was nearby what would happen? but yea I sure am scared. Promise me those monsters won't arrive on Dieppe. I guarantee you that the Germans will say NOPE and surrender :P lol

I am NOT looking forward to Iwo Jima! Fighting up that Volcano with Bunkers filled with Troops waiting to gut the poor Marines. I can see the bloodbath at Dieppe All over again.... as for the others basic Jungle fighting for Bases/Airfields. With the Navy preying upon landing troops.
Quick Question. This looks real hard for a PC/Mac to handle. Have you tried this on iOS and see how that fares?

Still trying to find that Gato class submarine for you...

Does anyone know where we can find low poly 3ds versions of...
Japanese Zero
USN F4U Corsair
Japanese B5N Kate
USN TBF Avenger

Thanks!

Our current assumption is if it works in the Editor, the game should be able to handle it in play...

Polygon counts are about 8-18% of the max poly count that Battle Academy can handle for any single unit, so Pip reckons the game engine should easily cope...

Fingers crossed!! 8)

Now I would like to help you with some model. I have a buddy who can give me some really good models for a low price but I don't know if he has any Pacific forces. Ill see what he has at shop tomorrow. Last time I went I saw some very well textured F4 Crosairs. Hopefully he didnt sell them he makes them himself you know!

I can also see that the water looks more defined. A nice perk to this already perfect model

Just to keep expectations in check, that's the rippling effect that PC players see... Doesn't work on Mac or iPad but Pip's promised to look into an improvement for us for BA2, I believe...

Since these are Transports say we do a Dieppe where Transports unload LCA's with troops in them. I have confirmed that If load a infantry onto a jeep then an LCT he does survive with all men intact. But since it is a transport one holding say 5 LCT's in each Transport. With some 2-3 US Marines 1 Mortar and an Enginner. Maybe a Sniper Team.

submarine would be cool if you have a "submerge" icon and just show say a periscope with no enemy marker above it during gameplay, lol.
These models look fantastic.

Great idea... Amaris can you lower the 3d model vertically, so that only the tops of the two scopes are visible...?
So submarines would have two 3d graphics... one for surfaced, one for dived modes (equivalent to open ground or hidden for infantry)

Like scouts vs infantry, a destroyer/minesweeper should be able to see a sub's periscope within 2 square range... A cruiser, carrier or transport would not...
