Probably been answered long ago so apologies.

In a club game there was a shock BG with some bases fully inside forest and others outside. Several questions arose, and even with the FAQ there was a difference in opinion on

1. Visibility into a forest is 2MU. Does that mean troops can see upto 2MU into the forest from any distance outside? Or do they have to be within 2MU of troops inside the forest to see them? The answer will also deal with the reverse questions of what the troops in the forest can see.

2. We played that the bases fully inside the forest couldn't see enemy more than 2MU away, and therefore couldn't charge them. Although situation didn't arise we considered situation where bases outside forest could see an enemy BG but not in charge reach, whilst bases inside forest couldn't see it although they were in charge reach. Would it be correct that BG wouldn't be able to charge because no base could see enemy it was within charge move of?

I believe that's correct - see the FAQs - point 9, plus page 140.

Again, yes, I believe so. See page 56 - an enemy base must be visible to be charged.

Thanks Pete. Looks like we got it right. And as it was my BG in the forest I'm relieved.
