Registering MHCEAW license on Mac

How to I officially license MHCEAW on a Mac? I believe that is my problem but Slitherine email support is uncertain and told me to post here. Here is my history. I downloaded the demo version of CEAW in 2012 or 2011, maybe from Freeverse. I played some of the demo hour. On June 18, 2013 I purchased MHCEAW 1.0.1 from Slitherine and downloaded it from the purchase link, along with GS v210. Before installing I deleted the demo version. I was able to install MHCEAW and have played over an hour on the game. It never asked for the licensing information and I could not find an in-game menu option to enter my license. No problem except I want to play GS. I can install it. Upon opening I can get through the language, window/fullscreen options all the way to "Loading..." at which point it says it requires a licensed copy of CEAW and directs me to Slitherine to purchase it.

I have tried deleting the applications and files in my document folder and re-installing. I have had a email exchange with support who directed me to games technical support forum where a developer might be able to help me. I'd appreciate any suggestions. I've enjoyed the game and even my teenage son is hooked.

I deleted the GS and its files under the documents folder then downloaded from your link. After install and launch I had the exact same problem and notice about not having a licensed copy.

When I run the MHCEAW I downloaded on the purchase URL, it says it is version 1.0.1 in the "About MHCEAW" menu. Is 1.06 a WIndows version or has the Mac version been upgraded?

The Mac version (Freeverse was 1.06) PC version is v2.12 I believe.

The vanilla versions are not compatible. That is why we created CEAW-GS to keep the versions compatible.

pk867, I tried to reply to your pm and got the red error: Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt.

I tried something. I installed the exact same CEAW and GS files on an older (2008) MacBook running the same OS 10.6.8. Both installed and ran properly. No errors or messages, or asking for license. Unfortunately I was borrowing the computer and can not use it for playing the game.

No demo version had ever been on that older MacBook. Does the demo version leave a secret file or register that GS accesses?

Are you admin on the computer that the game has trouble? Or are you playing as a user without admin rights?

That is interesting what you said. I am working with Slitherine to ensure the files are the latest. So hopefully we can get you up and playing.

I would like to get the latest version, but it doesn't seem that is the problem. Since I could get it to work on a different computer, which never had the demo version installed, could there be some demo file I need to uninstall/delete?
