Multiplayer Issues

I have all the expansions and play on win7 pc. I had no issues upto about month ago when all of a sudden I can't access the multiplayer tab on the menu screen.
I have BA exempted on firewall. When I load from shortcut I get a patch notices and all the notes from past patches as an info screen. Then I receive a small
pop up box that says " will attempt to connect to internet" and some other text. At a loss on what this issue has stemmed from as I haven't changed any settings
that I'm aware of and have not downloaded anything on this comp in a long time.

Also just reloaded update 2.1.1 with still no multiplayer option on home screen, greyed out.

It sounds like you have deleted your save folder? When you play the tutorial and initial desert missions it unlocks the various features and campaigns. A shortcut is to go to My Documents/My Games/BBCBA and open OPTIONS.TXT. Then change the CAMPAIGNS value to 255 and save the file. When you restart the game everything should be unlocked again.

Thanks for response. I cant seem to do that as it says it is being used by another process? I followed and found the options.txt file but wont let me access it.

Hmmm - that would probably be the issue. It sounds like something odd is going on with the file. You could try deleting/renaming the BBCBA folder inside My Documents/My Games and then running the game again. It should rebuild it and you can try resetting the campaigns value again.

Something like this can often be caused by running the game as Administrator and then attempting to run it again as a non-admin user.

So I found out that all my history has been erased and went ahead and played the tutorial again. This unlocked multiplayer tab on home screen and I was allowed
to set up games with some friends. Now a week or so later after not logging in to play BA, I have found I am back at square one and it appears I have to replay
the tutorial again to start things up. Any ideas on what is happening to this file? I had never had issues like this before and dread the fact of starting over
everytime I want to play.

That you have to play to the tutorial to be able to enter the multiplayer is a pain in the a....
Where is the sense in that? Cant this be patched out?

Do you still have the issue that your OPTIONS.TXT file is locked by another process? As Pip said, you can unlock Multiplayer, etc. without replaying the tutorial by editing this file. If there is something interfering with the ability of the game to load and save the options, that may also explain why progress is getting reset.
