The Armenian's are hurting bad .

Only because his Romans fought like girls. No matter how this comes out, Ian should have those BG's decimated and their uniforms trimmed in pink.

flatsix518 (Later Macedonians) 20/41 vs iandavidsmith (Armenians) 49/43

Whew! This game was significantly closer than the final score. Iandavidsmith was really let down by his Roman allies. My pikes rolled them like a cheap date. At that point I had a significant combat power advantage, but the score stayed frustratingly even. I just couldn't seem to pull away and put the Armenians away. Finally, I broke to about a 10 point BP lead. But it was nerve wracking for much of the game.

Batesmotel has accepted the challenge.

We both have reasons for revenge going into this game. We're split on our last two games. Chris won in our last go to in RoR KO. I bested him in the current Lords tourney. I don't think either of us is in the mood to grant any quarter...

This will be a grande battle and you are both very evenly placed. If we can have updates or a few screen shots that would be magnificent :)

Yes, batesmotel and I are pretty even. He and I have played several times over the years. Right now I have my record vs Chris at 5-0-6 (five wins, no draws, six losses). I know, it's sad that I keep those records -- but my professional field is data, so I can't help myself.

Battle Update:

The cunning Bosporans (batesmotel) have chosen to fight this battle in the Pripet Marshes. A heavily wooded swamp in the middle of nowhere Russia. It's rumored that batesmotel has fitted his lancers with water wings and snorkels. Clever that...

I will counter by disguising my pikes as bulrushes and cattails.

Turn 4 update.

It is now the top of Turn 4. We're pretty well getting stuck in. I think the Bosporans are up to something dastardly and sneaking -- that is what they do.

Anyway, the current box score is:

Macedonians: 2/43 (547 casualties)
Bosporans: 5/52 (564 casualties)

Turn 8 update.

It is now the top of Turn 8. The Bosporans have unfortunately achieved a number of break throughs all over the field. It is not looking good for the Maceonians

The current box score is:

Macedonians: 28/43 (3,564 casualties)
Bosporans: 24/52 (3,245 casualties)

While the BPs and casualties are pretty even, the Bosporans superior numbers will probably prevail.

Turn 9 update.

It is now the top of Turn 9. The Bosporans still hold the advantage -- but the Macedonians have clawed back a bit.

The current box score is:

Macedonians: 31/43 (4,531 casualties)
Bosporans: 35/52 (4,204 casualties)

Again, the numbers are hard to overcome.

Turn 11 update.

It is now the top of Turn 11. The Bosporans still hold the advantage -- but the Macedonians have clawed back some more.

The current box score is:

Macedonians: 36/43 (5,434 casualties)
Bosporans: 42/52 (5,211 casualties)

The Macedonian pikes abandoned their bulrush and cattail camouflage to surround, kill, and eat the Bosporan lancers that broke through the center. They reported the hard part was cracking the lancers' armoured shell. After that, they tasted like chicken.

flatsix518 (Later Macedonians) 45/43
batesmotel (Bosporan(mid)) 48/52

In the end the Bosporan shells proved just barely adequate to save their bacon, I mean chicken ;-). It was a real nail biter right down to John's final turn. The Bosporans were saved by a number of fragmented units rallying on my last turn.

Thanks for a great game, John.
