Forum won't keep me logged in

Don't know if this is the right place to post this.

When I log in to the forum I check the keep me logged in box.

After a while, or if I go to another page (profile, private messsages, search, FAQ, etc), I get logged out.

I note that the forum makes no attempt to set a cookie. How is it supposed to keep me logged in?

Also, the little green icon that shows new post in a thread doesn't makes sense. It does not discriminate based on whether or not I've seen those posts, and it's idea of "new" is very brief (an hour?).

It sounds like some weird conflict with your machine. It should save a cookie so check that your PC is not preventing this. Possibly an internet security or virus checker being over zealous.

New posts are marked since you last logged in. If you keep logging in and out it will really mess up what is marked as new so I think its all linked to teh login problem.

Had a bunch of cookies from slitherine.com and www.slitherine.com, deleted them all, it set new ones, now works as expected. Must have been from before the forum/website upgrade.

While it no longer logs me out for being idle for a few minutes or browse away from the forum, it does log me out when I close the browser. Looking at the cookies it sets they all expire at end of session. So the stay logged in tickbox does nothing for me.

That's odd as other people do not log in each time, it remembers them. It still sounds like some setting on your PC is mixed up. I'm not sure what to suggest though - I'm no expert on cookies.
