The classical indian list suggest you can have allied contingents but none are specified at the end of the list.
Can a classical indian army taken a mountain indian allied contingent?
Thanks in advance

Re: Classical Indian
Classical Indians are allowed two types of allies, Classical Indians and Mountain indians as per pg 35 of the lists.
In fact, if you are playing enough points and you want a fourth command it has to be allied as the CI can only have 2 sub commanders.

Re: Classical Indian
This is incorrect. Per page 33
So no Mountain Indian ally permitted. An Indian allied general's contingent must conform to the Classical Indian Allies list below, but troops in the contingent are deducted from the minima and maxima in the main list.
Thracians
Classical Indians
Medieval
-Germans (many flavors), Danes, Low Countries
Burgundians
In progress - Later Hungarians, Grand Moravians

Hi
We need clarification on this point as it may be that after many years, Vespasian has won a club game with his classical Indians but with an illegal army list. Oh the shame !!!!!

Re: Classical Indian
The only allies permitted to a Classical Indian army are Classical Indian, which must follow the restrictions on page 33.
Mountain Indians do not exist as an army in thier own right, only as an Allied contingent. The fact that the list for these contingents is on the same page as the Classical Indian list is irrelevant, the list would need to show Mountain Indian as a permitted ally in the same way as the Saka list does (see page 30).

Re: Classical Indian
Thanks, I thought mountain indian probably weren't allowed but was confused by the lack of allies section at the end of the CI list. Most lists have a box indicating allies all though it is clear from the intro text that some allies are allowed.

Re: Classical Indian
My apologies for that. Completely fooled by the presence of the Mountain indians on the same page and previous DBM experience leading me to see what I expected to see
And Jon you know perfectly well I have only won two games with CI all these years and none of those had MI allies. The ones I lost though did so that's karma for you.
