Event tab - F4 command

While the other tabs seem to work perfectly OK (Military, Economic, etc) I have yet to get any "Events" to ever show in the Event tab (toggeled by F4) which is located nearly dead center on the bottom of the screen. Not sure if I've missed something where this has not yet been enabled, or just have never received any Event worth noting - which I think I would have with the multiple games I've played and messed with so far. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Same, it appears to be nonfunctioning.
