England/Wales Interest - FoGR National Rankings May '13

Post by timmy1 »

The FoGR National Rankings for May are on the BHGS website (thanks Bruce). The results from 4 competitions are included. We have a new No. 2.

If you spot any errors, please advise.

Cheers Alasdair,

I'm the no.1 of the also-rans behind the Master!

Still being only 10 Ranking Points behind, if I win Roll Call and also Britcon and you come 16th out of 16 in both competitions then I might close the gap!!!

Now why on earth did I choose to take an all average Scottish to Roll Call! :(

Alasdair only has to come top 5 at Britcon to improve his ranking score...

Ah, it would appear those mere mortals like myself who have also entered FOGR at Britcon will have to stand on the side lines applauding politely while those two giants of the rankings Don and Alasdair fight it out for supremacy. Ah well it will be a learning experience for me if nothing else.
Mind you as a Scot who plays one tournament that counts towards the rankings then I can hardly complain. I know my place.

Ach, now you have gone and spoilt my whining self deprecation. You have neglected to mention though that you were not there last year and in the interim period you have been buying all my tournament winning armies from me.

I assumed I was buying all your armies that you reasoned couldn't win - Hawaiians, Jacobites and Scottish. I don't remember the Western Sudanese coming up for sale!!!

You may think you're past your prime (?) but I've probably got more years on the clock than you and I have learnt over my many years that the Scots always claim to be impoverished in some way (especially at the bar!!) and they're not always 100% honest - I'll happily take a beer off you and even return the compliment!

John

The Scotch competitions DO qualify (at least until November 2014) but I can't get Alan or Hunter to send me the results. The comps have their own columns in the rankings, empty and neglected. If you are able to get Alan and Hunter organised... I can take results from 2012/06/01 onwards for inclusion.

Regards
Tim

Tim, you have my sympathy. I have had a go at Hunter a few times about submitting results but he never seems to get around to it.

Don, I will happily buy you a beer. As for the Sudanese from last years Britcon I could never bring myself to sell them after their victory. Having said that I doubt they will be back for an encore this year.
