The price of Panzer Corps and the difficulty of actually finding the game both make it more difficult for me, and possibly others, to purchase. I was a huge fan of the SSI 5-star general games and, paradoxically, bought them all (Panzer, Allied, Fantasy, Space and Pacific) at full price of £30-35 when they originally came out. There were several other iterations, all of which I purchased as well. The option I had then, of course, was to re-sell those games once I had finished them. Almost all digitally delivered games do not allow this option of recouping some of the lost income.
I purchase digitally whenever possible as I have convinced myself it is not only better for the developer but also for the environment. The argument pertaining to sales posited at the beginning of this thread presumably does not take into account those people like me who have not yet bought the game because of the price and a lack of accessibility. When it hopefully arrives on Steam, I will purchase the original. If the price of Panzer Corps and its DLC were bundled and made more inviting I might also purchase from Slitherine directly. One of the reasons why the cost of games is so competitive is precisely because of this inability to re-sell digital product and the ability to impulse purchase digital goods. Slitherine exclude themselves from either opportunity for the most part. However, the argument made by the Slitherine representative, whilst likely solid in relation to the data it is drawn from, is not infallible. The most important data in terms of sales and the argument about selling at a lower price point on a more visible website will remain moot. I understand that Slitherine are happy with their sales policy but the points presented are not substantive but merely argumentative. However, that is entirely Slitherine's choice.
Unbelievable price !!!

Part 2 - my post was too spammy in appearance for a first time poster - clearly I should have restricted myself to a cursory salutation!
Panzer General 2 is available on GOG for $10 and I have purchased that game digitally, as well as still having my original copy (I loved PG and PG2 too much to resell them). There is an open source project called Open General that when applied top PG2 allows the game to be played beautifully at higher resolutions on current Operating Systems with an enormous variety of beautifully designed campaigns, many of which are superior, in my opinion to the originals provided with the game. I've played at least 30 of these campaigns and perhaps as much as 1000 hours of PG2 for my $10 investment.
So, Panzer Corps is not that attractive to me in terms of its pricing although I would very much like to play it. I really dislike that the front page suggests a certain amount in UK pounds and then adds a further amount in value added tax beyond that point. Such are the vagaries of the UK's tax system and there is not a great deal that Slitherine can do about that but the vast majority of retailers include the VAT as part of the original invitation to treat as the lawyers describe it.
So, I will hold off purchasing Panzer Corps until I can give 30% of the cost to uncle Gabe Newell but may still force myself to purchase Africa Korps or Allied General from this site. I appreciate that Panzer General exists at all - the very good Elven Legacy, Fantasy Wars and several others have managed to plug the gap in my gaming life temporarily but from what I can see this is a game I would dearly love to play despite being unwilling, in my estimation, to pay dearly for it.

Re: Unbelievable price !!!
I won't comment on the issue itself as this horse was already ridden to death more then once in this topic
but regarding the tax issue it's not as easy you make it sound koovan. Different countries have different tax rates, some may even have different taxes for pure digital delivered goods and the boxed version. Without knowing where the customer resides and what exactly he is wanting to buy it's not really possible to tell him the exact price.

Re: Unbelievable price !!!
You can buy boxed versions from us for just $10 more which is still less than you paid for the original PG games not counting inflation which would have doubled their price by now and for some reason Plimus do not charge VAT on boxed games.
Re: Unbelievable price !!!
Thanks to Tarrak and Iain for your responses - much appreciated.
