Land transport attachments - How it works?

Post by Uhu »

Please could somebody explain how it works? I feel to understand it but somehow the changes don't work. For example there is heavypull indicator at the 150mm arty still in the editor it is not allowed to use Sdkfz 7.
So what exactly and in which files has to be modified?
Example: I want to add land transport for several units named "Ant-transport".

- First step: create a unit in the eqp file as Ant-transport (picture, sound, etc.).
- Next step?

From the top of my head:

- create the transport unit as entry in the eqp file
- important is the column "Transport Category": here you enter the "name" of your transport trait, for in your case 'Ant-transport'
- put the same trait 'Ant-transport' into the column "Usable Transports" for any unit that needs to use this transport

It's best to check with an existing unit that works like this, so Sdkfz 7 and 8.8 flak 36.
The Sdkfz has the heavypull entry under "Transport Category", the flak under "Usable Transports".

Thanaks Bebro,

I looked it with Excel (I normally modify/look it with a simple Notepad) and I found the categories - it makes sense. Now the next need would be to have a text editor which I can modify the eqp file to see the categories - because my old Office'97 Excel version couldn't save the file in the original format (I mean with the original context). Any suggestion? Notepad++ is much better than the Notepad but there I also couldn't find any cells as with Excel.
