When starting a new game, campaign or scenario, you'll see this:

How can I change GUI from Allied to Axis outlook (and music)?!?

I'm in mid campaign GC 45 West and I cannot see any option that does the change... Also new GUI looks neat, but experience stars are not visible enough due to silver color surrounding gold stars. IMO that should be clearly visible as it is very important in game. Also is it just me or does the firing and explosion sound have a longer pause between them? Is this done to simulate "projectile flying time" or something?

How do you use reform units for Panzer Corps? I started a new DLC-39 last night and lost a fighter on purpose but it did not come back. I had clicked the reform box in advanced settings. What else did I need to do?

If reform units is on you will have the lost unit available on next scenario start.

I did not have the unit available for the next scenario. I tried multiple times with both land and air units and nothing was available for the next scenario. Do I need to buy Allied Corps for these changes to work?

hmm yes I started GC44 east to test it, and it doesnt seem to work via the new advanced screen. It did work normaly when I entered the "cheatcode" crtl+shift+alt+c reform units.

I'm a bit puzzled if the 1.2 rules work for my save, since I was playing Budapest44 when I installed patch. My old heroes kept above +1 IN bonuses in GC45 but I suppose that's normal.

So does that mean none of the options will work with Panzer Corps?

You see them when you start a new game. In the options screen where you select the difficulty there's now a new "advanced" tab with custom difficulty and some other stuff like the new rules.

if you are already in a game, in the victory screen where you can select "View Battlefield" and "Proceed" you now can also save a replay and/or adjust the options, which brings you again to that screen with the advanced tab.

I understand that. Reform units does not seem to work for Panzer Corps. What else does not work?

I haven't tried things out that much, but the screens seem to work fine. Not sure about whether they actually take effect. I haven't checked that yet. But the detailed combat log seems to adjust the rules... hmm.

You change that by changing the main campaign in the main menu (you don't have to actually start a new one, just choose the campaign. After the patch Allied Corps (even though not present if you didn't buy it but simply patched) is preselected, hence the layout)

Here's where you change it:

The rules really don't seem to apply hmm... change the rules after winning one of my scenarios in GC42 but in the next scenario the combat preview screen seems to use the old rules, despite me selecting the new rules in the victory screen...

Can any dev comment on this? Is this supposed to work?

Edit; Even a newly started game does seem to ignore the new rules... :(

Screenshot from Stalingrad. Should Fighter attack on entrenched position work differently now?

I can confirm that Reform Unit option seems not to work in the DLCs. It works in the vanilla campaign, in Afrika Corps or in Allied Corps but not in the DLCs.

Actually all the advanced options do not take effect in any of the DLC's. I just tried "dice" and alas no dice. :P There is still randomness involved. When starting the DLC from the Allied Cops skin it does not change the skin to german gray as well and you are playing the german with the allied UI colors.

Hmm I guess that asks for some kind of hotfix then? I guess it was intended to work with the DLC wasn't it? It's kind of strange that it doesn't I mean the DLC runs on the same engine after all... I can actually live without reform units and the cheat seems to work as a fallback mechanism (which makes it even stranger that the option doesn't work). But I'd like to try the new rules...

I am quite sure it's a bug. The advanced options was introduced quite late in the Beta so the bug seems to have slipped through as no one tested it with the DLCs. It is working in the non DLC campaigns and i personally didn't even think about it possibly not working in the DLC.

I already created separate threads in the open beta forum reporting this bug and the "skin changing with DLC" one there so they don't get overlooked. I am sure the bug will be fixed, how fast tho probably only Alex can tell.

Yeah, depends on why it doesn't work in the first place. As a dev I find it curious also since all sets up on the same engine, but of course there can be some issues with stuff that made the DLCs special. I guess Rudankort will know where to look. Might be a simple thing or opening the box of pandora hehe.

Code: Select all

Offtopic: I guess I'll try to make myself available for testing in the future if I find the time. I guess you guys never have enough testers and being a dev myself I might be able to find some bugs others might not easily detect. How does one become a beta tester anyway? Do you guys always simply open a "beta testers wanted" thread?

A little off topic answer fast in the hope i don't have to moderate myself. ;)

Yes there is usually a thread when the beta is about the begin asking for interested beta testers. What criteria is used to chose from the available pool and if everyone who subscribes gets to beta test i frankly don't know. You can as well click on the "Beta Test" link in the the "Resources" menu to see which games are currently looking for beta testers.
