Allied Corps: Fort Capuzzo

This is the second scenario within the Allied Corps game. You will assualt and take Fort Capuzzo. Here is the Mission:

I played this at General Level. This is your first opportunity to build a mixed ground force to assualt and take fortifications. I prefer to have a mix of infantry, recon, armor, and artillery. Artillery is a must to support your forces and to weaken your opponents strength and any entrenchment.

I had purchased a British Infantry w/Bren Carrier, Cruiser I, and 25 pounder w/Quad. From these units added to my core, I created two small forces. One advances on middle fortress VH. The other advances to the NW corner VH. Always bombard with artillery before attempting to take VH. Don't forget to destroy any artillery supporting the VH first.

They will then begin destroying all of the supply dumps. You will receive prestige reward upon their destruction. The last VH in SE corner is tough... artillery is a must.

End Allies Turn 1

I immediately destroy the infantry that was in my path to my destination. I prepare for the assualt of the infantry that is entrenched. Pleaswe note that I have artillery positioned immediately behind my forces.



Turn 2

As I move up the force to attack the infantry, my recon spots the Italian Supply Dump.



My initial assualt fails to weaken the strength of the entrenched infantry. I moved up the other force to bombard the position and support the battle. While the Cruiser continues forward to destroy the dump.



At the end of the turn, we have defeated the first entrenched infantry and destroyed the supply dump.

Turn 3

We begin the assualts on the Fortification in the middle and at the NW Corner.



Turn 4

By the end of turn 4, we have been able to first destroy the artillery at the NW corner and taken the fortification VH in the middle. In moving the recon eastward, we discovered more dumps protected by anti-tank (AT) position.



Turn 5

We destroy the AT and weaken the infantry hold up in the NW fortification.



Turn 6

We have taken the NW Fortification VH and destroyed the first of two remaining dumps. We begin moving the force used in the NW assualt toward the SE fortification.



Turn 7

After destroying the last dump, we begin positioning our combined forces for the final assualt.



Since we had destoyed all of the Italian Supply Dumps, we get a message that we received a reward in prestige:

Turn 8

With our forces in position, we begin the assualt. Our first task will be to bombard the artillery and the infantry. We want to remove the artillery and weaken the infnatry before we assualt with our ground troops.



By end of Turn 9, we have been able to destroy the artillery. With the Recon low on ammo, I moved infantry up to take its place. The entrenched infantry has been depleted in strength and entrenchment.



Turn 10

We have destroyed the infantry and moved up for final assulat. We will also take the next turn to resupply.



Turn 12

Victory is ours...or in this case we got a Triumph because we met the Victory conditions by capturing all objectives.



Once you end the turn, a final message will be received prior to the next scenario begin...
