So GL88's you plan on making maps for the other beaches where the Commandoes landed (Moar Ranger!)

Hey BAR... Just follow these instructions and you'll be good to go -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=42347&start=260#p404508bar91 wrote:Hi Landmarine, you play the German troops in Dieppe. >Its strange, yesterday i can see the shadow of the units and today and dont see anything! The next update (v1.03) will solve it for you, but I'm not due any time off (or even weekends, lol) for awhile...

Did the fix work for you Philoo?philoo wrote:Hi,
I met the "blue problem" and thought it was normal for night period.
It's possible to see units by clicking on the "top view" button.
Now that I know it's possible to solve the problem, I'll do it.

Hey LM, Not sure I understand what you mean? There are 8 LCTs to 8 LCAs in latest version (v1.02).LandMarine47 wrote:Hmm GL88's do you think you have too much LCT's? I mean I don't think it's very accurate to have more Giant a landing craft than smaller. Perhaps make more for the Commandoes that arrive via Destroyers. Even out the LCT-LCA Ratio
PS you should allow infantry to ride tanks! It would save allied lives and make things hard for the Germans. But to even it out give the Germans an 88 or 2.... (On the screenshot I lol'ed at the random German Truck behind your men)
Hehe... Yeah, know what you mean about the truck... I have no idea what that was doing there... I suspect it either (i) dropped something sneaky on the beach and was then forgotten about, or (ii) was being used as an unusual 'night scout'... if it was the latter, trucks have the worst LOS of any unit, even before night time cuts that by half... combined with all of the lovely cover on the beach, for my rampant (read far too cocky!) marines, the 'scout' truck didn't last very long...

Infantry will be able to 'ride' PzIVs, StuGs and Churchills in v1.03...

There should be like 12 or 14. I don't know but it seems right that there are more smaller craft than larger. Don't you agree?
Re: Operation Jubilee - Dieppe raid - v1.02 now ready
Hi Gotta and land,
Since you make me know it will be a V1.03 which solve the problem without doing nothing, I think I will wait for this version of the scenario.
Thanks for replies and congratulations for work made!
Otherwise, I like this scenario because I am born in Dieppe!! But not in 1942
A while later !
Do you think you can make a scenario upon Bruneval english raid on german radar (Operation Biting)? It could be nice too this combined operation!
Bye.

Another thing can you make the Cheatu a VP? Considering that the Headlands WERE objectives during the Raid, won't it be appropriate for it to be captured by the advancing Commandoes?

Re: Operation Jubilee - Dieppe raid - v1.02 now ready
Hmmmm GL88's I have something quite unsettling I found out about the Germans.... I have found what I call a "Tactical Cheat" because before the game starts I can load up all my troops on 251's, Trucks and on the convoy near the beach! And in V1.03 we will do this for the tanks! (Which I have already moved to the Infantry HQ for more advantages). I think you should just get rid of the deployment screen becuase when tournaments come around I will be very hard to defeat........
Here on the convoy I have my troops from the Radar station on the ships ensuring I will land then with protection form the U-BootJagers.

Re: Operation Jubilee - Dieppe raid - v1.03 ready
Gents, v1.03 is now available...
Includes the following updates/fixes...
* No more 'blue screen of death' for PC users - Night colours are now brighter generally; appears to fix a problem that affected at least three PC players
* LCTs and freighters modded to permit them to directly load tanks/vehicles
* Infantry squads can 'ride' on tanks... Tanks can 'tow' artillery... But coastal guns remain fixed in place always
* Facing direction of German 152mm Coastal Guns can be set during deployment, but cannot be changed afterwards. CG's cannot fire behind any more (Excellent code tips Amaris, merci!)
* Loading units must be adjacent to their transports, including during the deployment phase (ie. you may have to move the transport closer, to load into it)
* Warships & Coastal Guns lose their remaining shots (reaction fire) when they bombard
* Warships (RN/Polish destroyers & German Vorpostenboot) can move after releasing smoke screens
NB. Do not load infantry to 'ride' a tank/blitz buggy jeep, and then load that tank/jeep onto an LCT or freighter... I have no idea what will happen, but you will probably lose your infantry...

Once Dieppe is safely out of beta, and a fun scenario for both sides... my next plans are (i) Guadalcanal/Eastern Solomons (working with some of Amaris' wonderful NAM mod, and possibly with extra naval units provided by Richcat)... (ii) American version of GJS'44 (recreating Omaha & Utah beaches, and the Cotentin Peninsula)... then (iii) St Nazaire... Bruneval is a great idea, but probably won't have time for a wee while...

Re: Operation Jubilee - Dieppe raid - v1.02 now ready
Interesting find, LM... I believe this got added to the core Load code by Slith... During deployment, units can load into transports wherever they may be... I've adapted that so that units can only load into adjacent transports, even during the deployment turn... so now you won't be able to cheat because you can't put your infantry/tanks next to your freighters... Problem solved! Nice catch tho, thank you...LandMarine47 wrote:Hmmmm GL88's I have something quite unsettling I found out about the Germans.... Here is my well organized Allied Invasion force
I have taken all factors into play evenly dividing all my men making sure each side of the force has MGs Mortars and Enginners (as well as Commandoes). Making sure each side has an equal payload.

I'm getting a weird audio glitch with Marine Snipers. When they fire the sound of grenades being thrown is heard. Kinda bugs me since I'm a perfectionist
