Game crashes my Laptop

new problem...As I am playing a scenario in multiplayer the game suddenly turns off my laptop...I do have the latest version and latest updates..Is there a fix for this?

I do have Norton antivirus and there are no viruses found

Is it possible the laptop is overheating? It can be an issue for laptops and games.

It only crashes like this while playing this game....no other program does this

That's entirely possible, but I need to know the cause of it . Some laptops have tech in them which alters the CPU speed to save battery life. This can "trick" the game into running at much higher frame rates than it needs to, because the laptop has "slowed down time". I must confess it always bewilders me that laptops will just keep running at top speed and then shut themselves off, rather than slowing things down if they start to overheat...

Try adding a line to your USER.TXT file (in My Documents/My Games/BBCBA) which is of the form:

FPSLimit 60

You can then raise or lower the value to get to a good balance between framerate and laptop heat.

I have tried every value between 10 and 90. the game still crashes. any other suggestions?

Have you checked the Laptops temperature after a crash? Maybe the other games you are playing do not demant as much processing power as BA.

I think the number can go higher than that, try 100 or 200. Depending on the magical CPU timing that is going on, you may have to go even higher than that
