Hi everyone
Can we confirm what the setup will be for compulsory pieces on the Britcon smaller tables if the piece is taken as the largest option.
In the 650 point competitions the compulsory piece has to go on regardless of whether it meet the requirements. For example a roll of 5 or 6 would mean the large compulsory piece could not be placed wholly within one side of the table and be within 8 MU's of the back table edge.
I assume this will stay the same for Britcon but would like to know beforehand.
Thanks
Rob

Re: Britcon setup query for smaller tables.
It wasn't like that last year. Set up rules were as written in the rules. If the piece didn't fit it didn't go on.
The set-up you are talking about was invented by Hammy for a problem that would not occur as he hadn't thought it through. (as usual)

I can confirm that we have discussed this and the normal setup rules will be used as written.

So just to be clear - a 15 x 15 MU compulsory piece would be lost on a 5 or a 6 because it wouldn't fit?
But on a 1 through 4 it would be fine?

Not necessarily. Depends on whether other placed terrain allows space for placement of said compulsory piece.

I guess you could be right. Not necessarily. Depends on whether other placed terrain allows space for placement of said compulsory piece.
The only other terrain on before the 2 compulsories are a River or Coast and possibly a Village. So the 2nd compulsory could be blocked by a combination of the village and the 1 compulsory if they all fall in the same position?
But that doesn't change my point - a 15 x 15 compulsory will not fit on the smaller tables at Britcon if the placement roll is a 5 or a 6 as it would be within 8 MU of the base edge.

Yes that is correct on a 40 inch wide table. Seems to me that the compulsory would need one dimension of 12 inches or less to fit.petedalby wrote:So just to be clear - a 15 x 15 MU compulsory piece would be lost on a 5 or a 6 because it wouldn't fit?

Exactly. You could take a gamble, take a huge piece and roll a 5 or 6 so it doesn't come on. But its a bad gamble as on a 1-4 it will be on the flanks
