It's like being a kid at Christmas -I love this hobby. I'm as excited now as when I was waiting 2/3 weeks for my first Hinchliffe and Minifigs Napoleonics back inthe early 70's!!!!! Have a nice day everyone!

Well Amazon do not even list mine as despatched yet and give a delivery estimate of 15th to 20th February so I will be lucky if I even have them by next weekend :(

I would expect that Amazon should be shipping today or in the next couple of days. Slitherine have already shipped.

Who will be first to take delivery?

I have a set on the way from Slitherine and another from Amazon (well you can't have too many copies can you ;) )

When it hits the doormat I will post here.

When I go onto Amazon it still shows "Items not yet Dispatched". Hopefully that should be updated shortly.

What Hammy didn't say was that he's asked Amazon to make up a "special" order. The 2nd copy is actually a copy of the DBMM list book 3 with a FOG cover on it so Hammy can get away with the famous "Beer Bet"!

Surely everyone needs two copies. One packed up in the wargames kit. The other by the bed side for when you need to check that last idea you got so you can relax and go to sleep.

Mine's the same, which is no surprise  . However Amazon also sent a marketing e-mail today, so I gave them some feedback saying that the should concentrate on sending orders out, rather than tout for more business

The slow boat?

Being on the far side of the pond, I suppose I have a bit longer to wait. Understanding this does not make it easier...

Spike

so Amazon, piss-up and brewery spring to mind

Spike (I've deleted my details)

My order was made on the 1st of Jan (6 weeks ago), and therefore you have had plenty of time to arange for appropriate stock from Osprey for a book with a known release date of 10th Feb, so I find your answer on why they have not been dispatched a bit lame. I suggest you forward this e-mail to your management who undertake the ording of stock, and ask why they seem to have under estimented the amount of stock they ordered.

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

Further to your e-mail, I would like to inform you that the books in
your order are presently unavailable and this is the reason that it
hasn't dispatched.

The marketing e-mails go out automatically with items that may be of
interest to you.We apologise if this seems offensive to you but I
can confirm that they are automatic.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for choosing Amazon.co.uk.

Arrived this morning, popped home for lunch from work to check, haven't done that since we were first married! Don't ask which was better! Texted most gamers I know, not you lot, you're complete strangers!

So what it's like? Basically lovely and well worth the wait. Smaller than expected but actually better for it. Just need to read it to see what's changed from the Beta version. The diagrams make alot fall into place for the first time, picture/1000 words etc.

Well done to all and thanks for getting it to me on time. Just need to sort some photos for JDM so we can get these army lists out on time.

Best wishes for a new dawn of ancient and medieval gaming,

JJ

I ordered from Amazon.co.uk on the 1st of january. I have upgraded my delivery to 1st class and still nothing has shipped. Not very impressed. Amazon are usually very good. Did osprey/slitherine actually get amazon their supplies??

I have in my mail box another e-mail from Amazon.....
I would like to bring this to your kind information that sometimes unexpected
fluctuations in supply can add time to our original availability estimate. We have
learned that "Field of Glory 1: Rise of Rome: Republican Rome Army List (Field of
Glory)................" is now back-ordered and we now hope that your order will be
delivered by February 15 - February 21, 2008.

I can only imagine how frustrated you must be with us at this point after reading
this.
So they have run out of army lists, not the main rules- and if you order something and its OOS, the rest of the order is delayed!

not that its much concelation but
In an effort to compensate for the delay, we would like to give you a 4.00 GBP
promotional gift certificate, for use towards your next Amazon.co.uk order.

The promotional gift certificate funds have already been added to your Amazon.co.uk
account..
So if you complain you may get the same, atleast It 1/2 pays for my copy of "Immortal Fire"
