Hussite Starter Army (aka Newbie Question)

Post by PrinceHal »

Hey everyone,

I've been wargaming several periods for a number of years now, but with preordering FoG today, I'm taking my first steps into Ancient/Medieval (and I'm looking for some advice).

It's been toguh trying to filter all my interests and decide which army I want to start out with, but since my city was founded by Moravian (of the religious group founded by Jan Hus), Hussites would be very appropriate.

I know they are to be covered in the Ottomoman book in September, but since I wanted to get a head start in collecting and painting, I was wondering if some of the more veteran players out there could help me out by formulating some semblance of an army list. I know there's gonan be war wagons and handgunners (lots of them), but some more specifics would be nice. Thanks

Well we need to keep the lists confidential but I did test out my hissites in3 test games during development so here is roughly what it contained:

2 BG each 4 x Hussite Cavalry
1 BG of 4 x Bohemian Noble Knights
7 BG each of 2 x BWg with supporting billmen and handgunners on the bases
2 BG each of 4 bases of billmen separately deployed
1 BG of 4 LF handgunners

13 BG in total in the army

LF Handgunners! Is there now a third version of this list. I've not seen them on the versions I have.

Whilst there may be a later version than the one you have Si's list is even earlier - so go with your version :)

Not surprising, given that they are normally protected firearm, so lethal in hand to hand combat against other skirmishers and also give a minus on shooting Cohesion Test due to their weapons making a loud noise!

Yes my army is simply the one used for testing pre finalisation of the list. I don't think the LF handgunners stayed in there but its not abad rough guide - which is all I said it was.
