hotkey 's' and renaming units?

Don't mean to be dense here but I can't figure out how to toggle on/off the sentry function and how to (re)name a unit. I've tried this on a new game that loaded. I'm got and am running the latest version 1.04 (I think). Is there a way to confirm the version I'm running?


EDIT!

O.K. -- I am dense -- I bought and installed CEaW two weeks (or so ago) after 1.04 came out. However, I didn't realize that you need to install the 1.04 patch after you ran the base installer ... I thought the base installer contained the latest patch ... My mistake ... Everything is fine now ....

renaming

I tried renaming units by clicking on the name but after 1 sec they revert what am I doing wrong please ?

Maybe you did not press enter for storing the new unit name?
