Not playable on Windows 8

I've just upgraded my XP machine to Windows 8, played hundreds of games on XP with no problems but now it is so slow as to be unplayable, like several seconds to register a mouse click and several minutes to load a game.

I've got the latest graphics drivers etc. and Windows is all updated. Currently pursuing this with Slitherine Tech support but I wondered if anyone else has this problem?

My bad - was graphics drivers, all working fine now.
