Water effects on a Mac?

Guys, Alex has pointed out that BA is supposed to show shimmery water effects...
I've attached a couple of screenshots below... and, as you can see, the water is plain matte, with no shimmery effects...
Do I have to do anything to switch on these effects?
Running latest version of BA on a Mac... High detailed shadowing is selected...

The OGL 1.1 version that we use on the Mac doesn't support any kind of fixed function effects that are comparable to the PC version unfortunately. I looked for a way to do something more interesting but they all ended up looking like blue lava
